Awful university, awful lecturer. The university have treated some of my course mates so badly, they dropped out. But the course, well. Don't do it. It has been poorly planned, Covid has not been taken into consideration, and the lecturer doesn't know what they're talking about. Trimester 2, the assignments were changed half way through the term due to Covid and the inability to use equipment. This would have been okay if the changes had been made at the beginning of the trimester, not half way through, and if they were actually thought out. The final project has been very hard due to limited resources and support. One student was told they need to prioritise the course over her job. In one regard that makes sense. But without the job, they can't live. The lecturer clearly has no real world experience, especially in regard of supporting ones self on a tight budget, having to work as much as possible to provide food, whilst also completing the course. Very inconsiderate.

Anglia Ruskin University has, so far, given me an amazing university experience. Having studied Drama in my first year and now having transferred onto the Writing and Film course, I can say without a doubt that the student services give wonderful support with your options as a student. As a course rep for my current course, I have gained a huge responsibility of making sure fellow students are enjoying what they do, as well as communicating with staff on a professional level. What ARU doesn't tell you is how much respect you will be given as a student, and it's phenomenal when you realise how your lecturers will give you such independence with your coursework and how much love they have for their industries. It really is all about “U” here, and it's really shown!

I haven't taken Media Studies yet because I am in foundation year and honestly if someone has the choice do not choose foundation it is stressful and the modules do not have much to do with your actual course.
