Absolutely love the course, its everything it said it was and more! All the lecturers are amazing and offer a professional aspect to their lectures, and the job prospects are brilliant as the University has lots of links with Theatres in the surrounding area
Sometimes it feels like the comedy students are lumped in with the rest of the performing arts students, and be part of modules that aren't really relavent, but most of the time the course is really intresting and fun
Teaching was terrible I felt completely unwanted and not cared about, lectures didn’t even care to learn my name even after three years. If you weren’t the top performing student, you were swept under the rug and not even noticed. I had a peer who asked about a masters she was interested in to our tutor and she replied with ‘ you’re not good enough to do a masters’
Not what I expected, not what I was told the course was going to be. Constant uncertainty and pressure on students to help form a new course which is underdeveloped. (For my years experience) the uncertainty is in terms of what our modules will be because the university don’t want to give us funding for the course etc
I’ve had the best time on my course, and I’ve achieved things I’m really proud of. It’s an arts course, so job prospects are always going to be tricky, but if it’s something you want to do it’s definitely worth it!
Whilst more theoretical than I anticipated the course offered plenty of learning curves and information, tutors were helpful and content was always made clear if not in the lecture. Only thing I would say would to be to offer more technical subjects such as theatre production modules such as lighting/sound rather than having to be joint honours.
