The array of topics and disciplines covered on the course is staggering. In three years I've learned everything from the history of the theatrical stage to how to compile information for, stage and direct my own solo non-fiction performance. I am writing a play instead of doing a dissertation which is wonderful, but you do have the diss and extended diss options. The course has opened me up to new ways of thinking about theatre, engaging with experimental ways of working on multiple occasions throughout the degree. I would recommend this to someone who wants to broaden their knowledge of drama, theatre and performance in every sense, this is not an acting course and thusly you will not be judged as such. It is a highly challenging and academic course, with more written work than practical assessment. Throughout my time studying I have developed a critical eye and picked up essay writing and planning, performing, directing, light/sound operating and communication skills.
