History and Politics, BA Hons

By On 24th May 19

Good range of choice for modules to choose in year 2 and 3, the lecturers are generally good. However, I have only had one meeting with my personal tutor all year and contact hours are very limited, so not to much value for money

Teaching staff are great, however, staff cuts have added pressure onto academics to either go part time or to take voluntary leave.

Politics and International Relations, BA Hons

By On 18th May 19

Barely any contact time, like 6-7 hours a week at the busiest, modules differ in teaching quality, dissertation prep has been mostly hands off from the department I believe everyone could benefit from more contact time in this area

War, Peace and International Relations, BA Hons

By On 13th May 19

During my time at Reading I did 3 modules that could actually be considered ‘war studies’ modules. In my first year not a single module was anything to do with war studies - the content I have only just covered in my 3rd year would be covered by a KCL student within the first year

Politics is taught well by lecturers, needs to be more focus on employability cos there's a lot of different fields a politics and IR student can go into
