Classics, BA Hons
By member637967 On 15th May 19Surprisingly enough job prospects, although not the same as a more practical course like economics or business. Lecturers are always top notch, very keen to help you. Perhaps there could've been more content regarding the philosophy during that age, but otherwise everything is complete.
Ancient History and History, BA Hons
By member1130506 On 23rd February 18Emma is a legend. I mean worth doing Ancient History just to be lectured by her, never met so great a lecturer. The rest are decent enough, and the course it's self is very interesting. However having half a term of Art History made me want to die, as in I would of preferred to be one of the cadavers Da Vinci dissected then ever have to study art history again. Worse thing is it was a compulsory module, so no escape from the utter soul destroying boredom which is an art history lecture. On the bright side at least that's done forever. The only issue is that due to being joint honours I only had one optional module, and due to having to balance the credits of my degree I couldn't take an optional module in History, but rather I had to take a university wide one or one in the school of classics. Being an idiot I took Latin and I now hate my life.
Unfortunately, most of my course had little choice in first and second year and almost all my third year modules have been cut. Beware of the fact that most students can't select their own modules at the moment as the department is struggling under the weight of numbers and cuts to staff.
