Politics and Modern History, BA Hons
By member467895 On 6th April 22History and Politics at Manchester is a great course and the two subjects compliment each other very well. Teaching is good and engaging, and you are not restricted to just choosing history/politics modules so a wide range to choose from. However some of the history modules in particular could be more varied, I have found that I have studied some similar topics whilst I’ve been here. I’d like to see some different areas/regions/time periods added to the syllabus.

Politics and International Relations, BSocSc Hons
By member719004 On 17th November 15If you studied global politics in A2 you will find first year relatively straight forward. But making sense of politics (which is compulsory) is a load of bs.

By member819380 On 20th November 15Good location , small rooms , big common room and kitchen , night life in the town close by mixture of peace and party . Great for second year rather than first year students
Politics and International Relations, BSocSc Hons
By member519883 On 28th November 15Left the course because it was not challenging to me, i was not getting value for money, and we were treated as just another £9000 income, so impersonal.

By member625779 On 23rd January 17VERY indenpdent... not really told much to do
Don't have a personal tutor. For the fact that we're paying 10,500 sterling, I was not impressed. Still a decent course.

By member434621 On 24th October 18Course content is interesting. Lectures are usually engaging and the seminars go by quickly. Tutors are efficient at emailing information most of the time. Not the most difficult course in terms of reading either which is good.

Economics and Politics, BA Hons
By PartyGARL On 12th May 20If you are an international student in COVID 19 times, you know how much money we have to pay for online classes
Politics and Sociology, BA Hons
By member1049678 On 5th July 20The course content was good but I wished I had more contact hours. We only get around 9 or 10 contact hours. The course is very independent and sometimes there is a lack of support. My academic advisor was good but rarely communicate with me. Lecturer and tutor were mostly very qualified with some exceptions. The value for money is the main thing I can complain about. I don't believe that humanities or social sciences courses, in general, are as expensive as any other STEM courses (especially the one that requires equipment and labs). So why charging Home fee students the same? It is simply unfair.
Politics and Modern History, BA Hons
By member1364664 On 6th December 21Very interesting course with a wide range of optional modules
Politics & Social Anthropology, BA Hons
By member865031 On 16th December 21Social anthropology is the most interesting subject I’ve studied. I’d never studied it before and the lectures made the content really accessible. The degree itself is not the most employable, but the skills you gain along the way will be.
