The course is really interesting and makes me want to engage, however sometimes the set up of seminars and the timetable lets it down and makes me not want to go in.
The job opportunities are endless with the course being so broad and varied and the option to do a placement enhances your career aspects, you also get a lot of support on this and on employability which is good. The teachers can vary as some have been very hands on and supportive and actually teach you a lot, and sometimes others can make you wonder why you pay to come to university.
The one thing I will critisize hugely is the personal tutor scheme, in my two years of university I have never spoken to my personal tutor or even know who they are, and university doesn't enforce this scheme more, so I have never had the opportunity to speak one to one with a personal tutor about my studies and development.
Manchester Metropolitan University is the worst place for an educations, staff here are really poor, they can't speak English, communicate, teach properly and basically found the education system a sanctuary for incompetence. Staffs here are work shy they want to come into work and do the minimum amount of work as possible, they have design the teaching so they can do the least amount of work.
Staff will give a list of instructions such N*** G******on piece of paper and sod you of the won't explain it to you do this, they don't teach you anything, the whole work design so that she do the least amount of teaching everything was on a paper and she did the minimum of teaching, she would ignore students, and put a negative exterior around them so people won't approach her she fail anticipate where she left of and take them on the journey. she would ignore student and talk in her own world and fail to give a professional level of service.
I am in the first year and have so far really enjoyed it, as it covers a wide range of topics in both subjects to give me a good idea about which one id like to do in the future! I have picked psychology
Absolutely awful university. The teachers don't put the time and effort into even marking your work properly. in my final year I have my main unit leader going on holiday to india instead of marking our work. 0 help available. the teachers either don't reply to your emails or don't put any effort it.
in all three years we have never really been given the opportunity to talk to other members of the class meaning no one makes any friends.
the units feel rushed with teachers putting in minimal effort.
There are some good teaching as well for some units which have the weeks listed online to look at but the inconsistency of it all makes this a terrible university,
if I could have gone somewhere else I would have, been a waste of time. don't know a thing about my course subject either after 3 years of studying it. I want my money back.
p.s Get your print done somewhere else because the university charge a fortune. £20-30 for a portfolio. ridiculous. AVOID
Business side of it is amazing. The lecturers are very organised and work is always marked on time. Economics wise the lecturers are terrible. Work is never marked on time and there is always confusion.
So far the materials and support staff and the university provide you with is fantastic! They do everything they can to make students confident, happy and motivated. They show great passion for the subjects they teach and it really does work to engage us as students.
