I am loving my time here, it’s amazing. Great Social vibes, lots to do, and beautiful city. When your here u get the best of both campus and city which is what I like most.
Not to say interesting lectures as well
Great teaching quality with helpful lecturers who make clearing doubts after lectures extremely easy. My personal tutor was very understanding and supportive. Broad course prospects which lead to equivalent job opportunities.
It's maths... we don't exactly get practicals so what do you expect for value for money?
The teaching is really great. All the tutors are great and will always give you 1 on 1 help if you ask. There is a good amount if tutor sessions and lectures all of good quality. If there is something you don't understand there is always a way to get help.
Have only met my personal tutor once in the first week. If I needed to speak to him I could easily email though and have a meeting.
The content of the course is really interesting and isn't too hard that I can't understand anything that's going on.
My personal tutor is lovely. Beyond that, the teaching is incredibly poor, bar a few outstanding lecturers. Module content isn't particularly stimulating, by third year, reciting proofs of formulae is mind-numbingly boring.
I'd do something else.
I've had a great first year on this course. It isn't easy but its a good combination of subjects I love. Most of the modules are interesting but the downside of having all compulsory modules in the first year is that you have to sit through some subjects you don't care about at all. The subject tutors are helpful and willing to answer any questions, as for my personal tutor, I've never met with them.
A con is that there is much more mathematical content in the first year, as you need to cover a lot of basics but it evens out in the other years and becomes a 50/50 split.
