Mechanical Engineering, BEng Hons
Well structured course with good lecturers and sufficient study material.
Mechanical and Medical Engineering, MEng Hons
AST is great and checks in often. lecturers offer lots of support, and assignments are well explained and mark schemes are clear. the practical element is great fun and the 3D printing lab offers training on the machines which will greatly enhance future prospects when finding a job. CAD software is provided for personal use so you can self-teach which is highly useful when wanting to work in mechanical or engineering design.

The content is challenging yet interesting and engaging.
Mechanical and Medical Engineering, BEng Hons
Friendly staff, interesting course, as long as you ask questions and work hard you should be ok. Only issue is that it's unorganized, be careful with your timetables and make sure to keep constant communication with staff and students so you know what's up (some people had timetabling issues and missed out on an entire module and they didn't know).
Mechanical Engineering, BEng Hons
Very poor department. Standard of lecturing varied wildly from absolutely excellent to extremely poor. Found it amazing that some modules averaged over 60 (with great teachers) to very high fail rates (due to useless teachers and extremely poor standard of notes) and no one picked up on it or cared. Very disorganised and lecturers/admin staff regularly ignore emails/problems. As an example, in my final year they calculated our final grade based upon a module being a 50/50 coursework and exam split, despite it actually being 80/20. When 20+ students angrily emailed asking why this happened, they apologised and changed the grade which actually changed my degree classification to a higher grade. Had we not been on the ball the uni simply would have let it slide because the lecturer who had done this had done it wrong then gone on a month long holiday. Go figure.
Like the lecturers personal tutors a bit s*** but lecturers are very happy to help you if you approach them. Not sure about Job Prospects.

I have enjoyed the course but i dont really have a personal tutor and dont really know who i could go to if i did have a problem thankfully i have not had to. Hard work but it wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't.
Mechanical Engineering, BEng Hons
Graduated with a First. Had long hours from year 1. Other people studying English, Economics, had it easy with their hours. Yet with the degree was Ive picked up a 6 figure city job. The whole course is difficult, but Engineers can not only do the math, they can put things into action. So even if you don't end up an Engineer, the skill of intelligent problem solving and communication - puts you well ahead of the rest.
