Music Composition Technology For Film And Games, BA Hons
I have been impressed with the support I get from some lecturers that have gone out of their way to help me and keep me on track. Assigments are generally marked quickly with helpful individual feedback.
Sound Design Technology, BSc Hons
Recommend this course to anyone interested in the music, audio and multimedia field. The amount of available professional gear is simply enormous, and easy to get at the loan store. The course itself is complete and fun, coupled with excellent teaching.
The degree would work better as a 1-year course. A lot of extraneous philosophical garbage in the curriculum like "ethnomusicology", and other useless modules based on irrelevant software like "Max 7" that doesn't add any value whatsoever. Was also promised work experience by a lecturer but it never came to fruition. Some of the visiting lecturers particularly in the songwriting department are useless, insincere and incompetent and make inappropriate statements such as " the degree doesn't really matter " and preach that it's all about being sycophantic over being someone that works hard, not really something you should be saying to students who've invested a lot of money into partaking the course. the more senior lecturers, however, are much more astute and helpful and offer a lot of realistic insight into the industry. there are a lot of great events run in the uni in relation to the course, however, some of them are poorly managed. However, FMP was a lot of fun and very worthwhile.
