History, BA Hons
By member832801 On 11th July 18History at the University of Exeter was exceptional. The course was clearly structured, and you could see how core modules in year 1 and 2 built up your knowledge in preparation for the final year and your dissertation. Optional modules were based on current research of the academic. Half of your final year is dedicated to studying one topic in depth - this was absolutely brilliant and gave you time to immerse yourself in current historiographical debates. I specialised in Early Modern History - the staff in this area were supportive and easily contactable. There were many ways to engage with the department outside of classes, such as peer mentoring and student-staff forums.

By member656669 On 21st April 21Good degree, though not exactly value for money compared to sciences. The contact hours for some modules are honestly a joke. Still, high quality tutors and a wide variety of interesting modules to choose from. Fairly well respected in the job market too for building research and team skills.

By bonicle On 2nd May 18Decent course. Lectures are recorded online and are mostly very interesting. Really flexible too as can pick any of the Politics modules. Could be more flexible on the history side. Haven’t met my personal tutor so can’t really comment on that but there hasn’t been much of a personal feel with the tutors or lecturers in my experience tbh.

By Nicole_X On 21st April 21Our classes have a lot of interesting content and the teachers are very warm-hearted. They won't look down on you because you have a weak base. On the contrary, they treat us with tremendous respect, no matter what.
