A lot of miscommunication in this course and confusion. The students don’t know what to do most of the time since the teachers don’t properly explain. The course is way too expensive for an international students, personally it’s not worth it. Otherwise the course contents are really great and useful. But there are not enough workshops for learning softwares. read more

I did the foundation course at aub and i won't lie im very glad i won't be staying next year. The studio spaces and campus facilities are lovely and the majoroty of staff are incredibly helpful. However there is a severe problem of miscommunication. Often there were issues with timetables where we would not know if we had a session until the day it was happening. There were constant mixed messages about deadlines and requirements which added an uneseccary amount of stress. Furthermore, part way through the course UAL completly restructured the course and the uni made many of their best teaching staff redundant. From that point on particularly in the fine art pathway it felt as if we were being boxed into working practices that did not represent the pathway we had chosen and were much more suited to people of a design or illustartion practice. There is the chance that much of this may have been resultant of the covid-19 pandemic however my gut tells me there are deeper issues here. read more

Would not recommend this course whatsoever, it truly is poor and leaves me upset every week thinking about it. Don't get me wrong the lecturers can be nice but the way the course is run is worrying. It feels a very unrealistic experience in all parameters from project types to marking. The dropout rate for the current final year is verging on 50% (There were 50 people in the first month)... now there are 25. read more

The great thing about being at a creative uni is being able to work cross-discipline with people on other courses, so for example costume designers can work with photographers on colab projects, and if you’re clever you can also sneak into lectures of other courses to get more of an understanding the processes they go through too, just try not to be a Jack of all trades! read more

I love studying film at AUB cause it gives you a very hands on experience. However the first three months were so disorganized and the second semester could have been structured a little better. I don't feel like there's enough teaching happening here (at least not from tutors) you learn more from your own personal projects and working with other people (on their own personal projects). Where do I start? I am currently on my third year and I'm extremely disappointed. This place is an off-licence, it is not a university. We do NOT have classes. They don't teaches anything. Our tutors are boring, uninspiring, and they have zero ties to the industry (apart from three of them) In order to use equipment for personal projects it's a pain in the arse to get it booked because the university does not have enough things for all its media courses and thus the techs get overwhelmed so they end up f****** us over. Our assessment is a joke. The feedback we get is confusing and many time counterproductive. If you want to study sound, production design, producing in a BA level, then AUB is a very good place for you. The rest RUN. read more
