I've loved the University of Chichester. If you're someone who is an introvert and likes the small community feel, University of Chichester is for you! Lovely lecturers, and more than happy to always help you out if you have any questions! read more

I am coming to the end of my first year studying in the Theatre department at the University of Chichester. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of studying anything in the theatre department (BA Acting, BA Acting for Contemporary Theatre, BA Drama Theatre and Directing) here to reconsider. There have been multiple times this year that I’ve felt left out by the other students and lecturers alike. I’ve felt unsafe in classes this semester, something I know I’m not alone in. I was sexually harassed by another student in the department and when I reached out to lecturers about it was offered no help or support. I’m slowly losing my interest for theatre and acting which is why I’lol be transferring out of the theatre department at least at the end of this year, if not the University. The campus outside of that though does have a really lovely atmosphere even if the accommodation isn’t the best. It’s a very LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive university which I think is very important read more

The campus is fairly small which is nice as it has a nice community feel and you get to know a lot of people around the university. The university has lots of connection to the wider community and has a good reputation among the city. The University campus is fairly basic and needs a serious clean (lots of dried gum, mud etc.) The library is too small for the increasing amount of students, it's hard to get a seat sometimes. The library also needs updating in terms of basic amenities (keyboards, chairs, desks etc.) The university also needs to update its campus, it feels very basic and old. Some of the uni. accommodation is very outdated (Hammond halls and Pinewood halls are very outdated). The university will try and force its agenda and inclusion at you very hard. for example, the university expects all students to get involved with LGBT weeks and will force it upon everybody. It feels like you are forced to support it rather than wanting to support it! read more

Having been at the University of Chichester for just over a year now I have loved every single part of it, the campus has such a community feel and is really easy to get around. The facilities are great, especially the fact that they have gender neutral toilets in most blocks! The university staff are amazing and will go out of their way to make sure that all students have the best university experience possible. Due to the fact that the university is smaller, it gives you so many more opportunities such as working with the students union, working at the university being an ambassador, working on projects, running societies etc etc. read more

So far I've really enjoyed my time at Chichester Uni, I am currently a second year who is studying Digital Film Production and Screenwriting, and I have found all the resources to be very useful with my studies. The Student Accommodation is really nice, especially Stockbridge as it is close to the town centre and is near many shops which can make life a lot simpler. read more

My second uni I’ve been to and I love that it is much smaller and therefore more of a community, so there’s less of a chance of slipping through the cracks. It’s also very student focused, which seems obvious but doesn’t always happen, and there’s a big emphasis on inclusivity and mental health awareness. Lecturers are great and often the focus is on discussion and opportunities to learn more, with all of them being available for extra help once a week if you get stuck. Also lots of access to cool facilities like a bouldering wall and other sports equipment through clubs, even though I’m not on a sports course. Haven’t had much contact with careers but still receive regular emails about job opportunities and careers fairs. Overall I really enjoy studying here :) read more

The induction week was quite slow and repetitive however the lecturers did reiterate their support to students needs and requirements which they have shown through the first semester. The facilities at Chichester uni are, I believe, of a standard state and the university hold several socials for the students as well as tonnes of clubs and teams that you can join in with. read more

This uni is terrible! Lots of problems with no help! Issues with students and lecturers! One lecturer laughed at my work, another said they thought i was clever, and said because I have mental health I’ll do well. I was bullied onsite and offsite - nobody picked this up. A very narrow minded uni! I was made to feel scrutinised and oppressed causing me to have panic attacks at home, in my car, onsite and during lectures. read more

I study at Chichester, it is a safe friendly working environment with experienced tutors who actually have experience in the business world. We are enlightened with real life examples in everything we do here and it is really useful. Both Chichester and Bognor Regis are easily accessible locations and are located in a good area of the country. I would certainly recommend coming to an open day and speaking with the tutors to make your decision. read more
