Plymouth is a port city in the county of Devon, in the south west of England. It has a rich and colourful maritime history, which you can explore at The Barbican, where you can find the Mayflower Museum. Many famous historical figures have set foot in the city so there is much interesting history to discover if you study here! You can also visit the National Marine Aquarium, Britain's largest aquarium which is run by a conservation trust. New Street boasts a 400-year-old distillery and 16th century old Elizabethan houses. The Plymouth Hoe is the renowned open space in front of the port, where Smeaton’s Tower sits, one of the world’s most famous lighthouses.
