The rating is low because of what they ask to rate but I love Heslington, it's quiet and beautiful.

Living in York: Friendly, Expensive and Small. I love the city, one of the best places in England. Super friendly, food is cheap/expensive depending on where you are from (Southerners think its cheap, Northerners think it's expensive) but has lots of history and I love that you can walk pretty much everywhere so you save money that way. But student housing is a joke. There's not a lot of properties so the few companies that own them take the mick, they charge an arm and a leg for a dumpsite of a house. Sinclair are the only decent company in the area, Quantum has lovely houses but are so disorganised, Adam Bennett are very rude and IG properties have awful houses and charge too much. Nights out are also getting worse because clubs keep closing as York's population is becoming more families and older people. Leeds is not far so you can go there but just keep it in mind that York is not your university if you want a great night life.
Expensive! But this will depend on where you have travelled from.
Nights out are a clear 10/10. Gonna miss Willow though.
Not great for places, but the inner city is just a bus away
Very efficient public transport and over 360 bars/clubs to choose from!
York is a tourist city, although it is expensive some places there is loads of student discount available so make sure you utilise them
