Don’t know what sick person built halls in Poole but it was hands down the stupidest idea ever. I spend the majority of my time sleeping on my friends sofas in Bournemouth and paying for trains so if you’re down for this life style then be my guest.
Location is terrible meaning to get to lectures on the bu campus you have to catch the bus an hour before and after nights out money has to be spent to get back - although there is a night bus for only £3 but this is still £3 more than other students pay and if all adds up!! New management is also not very good have been waiting well over a month for my deposit to be returned when the team originally stated it would be retuned 14 days after leaving - on the other hand the rooms and kitchens are nice and the kitchen gets cleaned regularly
People say that Corfe House isn't the best location distance-wise from Bournemouth uni which is very true, but especially as a Postgraduate student. Having to get a 30minute (40 if using one of the non-uni buses) to get to lectures did eat up time, and you couldn't just pop home if you forgot something. However, the links to Bournemouth are really good, Ignoring the distance from the uni it's in a really lovely area very close to Poole park (with a lake), the edge of Poole Harbour, two shopping centres, and the pedestrian town centre. The staff were really lovely and helpful, and I would say actually aimed to be friends to the students. The size of the halls being small was nice too because you would learn to recognise people quickly which made it feel very familiar and comfortable. Though I wouldn't have minded being somewhere much closer in the end to the university there were not really any other things I'd change about my experience in the halls.
My experience with Corfe House has been awful. Traffic can get really bad especially if it's raining so there is a chance you'll be late for some morning classes. The halls and rooms have not been recently painted and they don't overall feel very clean. Every furniture and appliance is of regular to bad quality (shower, bed, oven, toilet etc...). The staff has been disrespectful to me on several occasions. The flats and surrounding area (bus and train station) can get really noisy. The rent for the kind of accommodation provided is ridiculous, much better and cheaper options can be found near the campus. I do not recommend this to any person with good standards.
Corfe House is too far to enjoy a closeby nightlife apart from a few pubs. Common room looks bigger on the website pictures than it is in real life, and subsequently lacks to accomodate large gatherings of over 20.
Corfe House location isn't the best but I found you bond with the people in your halls a lot more as its small and you're in the only halls in poole. The double beds are amazing!! The night life/partying is just as good. You just need to fork out a bit for taxi's to get home which is roughly £5 each. There's a shopping centre right next to the halls and the bus service is really good. There's an aldi next door to the halls which is very cheap. Sandbanks and the local park with a lake in poole are also gorgeous in summer as well as bournemouth beach. I've had an over all good experience living in corfe.. It's just a little far but everything you need is within close proximity apart from the nightlife which there are frequent buses to anyway.
Terrible location! No where near the university it takes 30 mins on the bus at least to get there. It's over an hour away from the other halls so you can't socialise and if you want to go out clubbing it's so far that it costs £25 in taxi fares one way. It is close to the poole town centre but that is rubbish compared to Bournemouth. DO NOT GO HERE.
It's been a good experience in these halls the convenience of having aldi, sainsburys and asda in walking distance plus a town centre is great. Getting to uni isn't bad at all. Only thing is you're a bit isolated from the other halls and taxis back from nights out are expensive.
as a student nurse this accommodation is ideal, it's in a beautiful location and close to placements. However if you're studying a university based course you may feel like your out of way a bit, and it does make nights out more difficult. For me, I have no regrets about choose these halls, but can see why others might.
good place to live although a little far out from Bournemouth and nothing to do in Poole as of nightlife!! Nice halls and staff are excellent with dealing with all problems and are all very friendly Perfectly good halls just needs to be in better location for students
Corfe House is situated in Poole which is a 20-30 minute bus ride to uni and a 25-40 bus ride into bournemouth town. This is the only downside as its away from everything however being in Poole it still has everything you need including a shopping centre, leisure centre and a beautiful harbour. The vibe in Corfe is amazing, it's like a community as we are the only student halls in Poole meaning everyone kind of knows everyone. Reception is so reliable, they are there to help 24/7
