I stayed at Saltash in 2012/13 academic year. It's a budget hostel meaning it was among the cheapest (and is still one of the cheapest) halls so what you get is what your money can afford really. The room is really okay; the internet is great. there's a sink in the room. The kitchen is okay though its a bit crowded. The main downside is that the bathrooms/toilets are shared and they are not cleaned daily so it could be an issue. So if you want an ensuite room with toilet/bathroom then you need to spend more money.
Brunel has built a wall around saltash and loud works have begun at 8/9am, it is quite clear how little the university cares tor the wellbeing of Saltash residents. There are no social spaces and the halls have more in common with a mental hospital than student residences.
Saltash is the best hall for location - you're right next to the lecture centre. The rooms are pretty spacious but be mindful that the kitchin is overcrowded. I met some really cool people here -saltash people tend to stick together.
