The building isn’t the newest but I’m so glad it’s where I stayed! The open plan of it made it so much more social and easier to get to know everybody! The only downside was no proper comunal area

St Elizabeth’s Hall is a shared catered accommodation for undergraduate students. The shared facilities are regularly cleaned, as well as the hallways so even when it is messy, the mess is gone relatively quickly. I have not had many problems with my room, which is large due to not having an en-suite, the only problem being my door not closing properly in the first week. However, I got this fixed quickly and have not had any issues since. One major issue with the accommodation is no purpose built social spaces, forcing us to hang out in our rooms, hallways or the lobby.

An absolute rollercoaster of a ride. The halls were made of pure cardboard, rain poured through my ceiling and 50 young rambunctious students in their prime, running around and setting alight to cheese. Parents who are reading this will think why the hell would I let my precious child go here?!? Well, included in the rent is 2 meals a day in campus food, and the rent is cheaper than any other on the main campus, not to mention the biggest rooms. You will make the most friends here also. They never show the rooms because they are, as mentioned, made of papier mache or skme sort of moldable substance.

St Elizabeths halls were grimey, falling apart and of low standard. The only positive of these halls was the location, outside of this it ruined the potential of first year and suppressed the abilities to develop a normal university social life.

Huge bedrooms which is great! Not really any social spaces though, and as the halls are quite old they are a little run down. However, great value for money!

The location of St Elizabeth's halls could not be better. Other than the small hill up to it from the main campus it couldn't be any closer. Literally EVERYTHING ELSE is absolutely NASTY. It was nice to see that this accommodation was or is also used as a hostel. I will not lie, I have stayed in hostels with a much, much higher standard than this dump. In my room alone, the walls are dirty, the floor is stained, the windows have been covered in mould from the moment I moved in, the sink is gross, the sink light is broken, and I could go on. I am appalled that this university have allowed such vile standards. The walls are paper thin, the 'sociable' part of the accommodation wears thin even for those who go out regularly as you never get to sleep. My floor has an under the counter fridge that is set at the wrong temp and can be barely classed as legal. The housing department ignore everything you say, security are lazy and do not do their jobs, and I have been ill for over 16 weeks...

If you want to be sleep deprived by the paper-thick walls then St Lizzies is for you. Included in the £4.5k you receive meals that would not be served to prisoners; not only is the food disgusting and over priced it's is unhealthy. There is no cooker and the catering card only allows for one meal a-day. There is no security desks/cctv cameras and the security drive into the car park and turn around when they're 'patrolling' thus resulting in every student in this halls feeling safe. The 'American dorm' layout allows, anyone to walk through the halls - this means using a floors toilet, kitchen and shower. This causes great inconvenience when things start to go missing (loo toll, food, alcohol etc). Not only that but when students are drunk they tend to run through different floors, waking everyone up. The university itself, when it comes to maintenance, is poor. The only good thing about St Elizabeth's is the location. However , on a student night, you can hear the que of drunk people!

St Lizzies is the place to be for meeting a huge group of friends, where everyone can socialise with each other without individual flats. With a catering card the halls work out good value, compared to self catered accommodation. The rooms are also much bigger than Burma and Queens and it is closer to campus.

Good value for money with food included but shared facilities, and once someone has access into the lobby he then has access to everywhere. Cleaner only cleans floors when they see it is clean enough, which doesn't make sense.

I was in the annex part of these halls for the first few days at this uni. Wasnt cleaned or maintained at all before i arrived. i had to hoover my room and wipe dust off everything. absoulutely disgusting. I then found that i was sharing a bathroom with 2 males a lot older than i was (im a girl) and our bathroom door didnt even lock. Brilliant

Brilliant when it comes to having food included, but no social space which is a huge inconvenience and hard to socialise as a big group. However, it is the best halls to make friends as everyone has access to the whole halls and becomes a family! Decor and building in general is a bit old and could do with a referb. Also although it is a catered hall it would be nice to still have an oven and hop. But all in all a great halls and perfect for first year.

These halls are catered, the catering system while I was there was diabolical, with no oven, there was no way to cook for ourselves when they randomly decided to shut the food hall, I was forced to eat some pf the worst food in my life last year and cannot wait to cook for myself. There is no social space in these halls, the kitchens are tiny and the lobby was 'off limits' for gatherings. Luckily the people in my hall were amazing and I had the best year ever thanks to them.
