Really clean and modern halls. I stayed in one of the most modern ones Penmaen. It was really modern had great facilities and the room was spacious enough for me to be very comfortable. I have great memories of that room and the flat in general. Only downside is you don't get mobile signal in the room but you have a landline in the room anyway so its not an issue.

Apart from not having hot water all the time and silverfish the hall is really clean and tidy

Overpriced, horrible management that will be rude, some really rude cleaners that will complain about you outside your room, basically no common room, terrible WiFi connection with no ethernet.
Cefn Bryn. Best year of my life, brilliant location, great size room and toilets, great communal kitchen suitable for the social lot and great cleaning and maintenance services. Great value for money. Highly recommend!
great location, cheap, access to loads of facilities, however it's often very loud at night, had to by heady duty headphones
penmaen is your best hall choice, most facilities for the money
I love the Langland building. I have a bedroom with my own en-suite, and share a kitchen with 7 others. We all really get along, and being in this flat has made my year so amazing so far.
Lots of things broken in the room, which haven't been fixed/replaced before I moved in. 2 showers have leaked on our floor. Mattress very uncomfortable. Maintenance always very late to respond to emergencies. Cooker has broken twice. Didn't have a chair when I arrived, I've enquired, but still haven't heard anything back. Cleaner very friendly. Postal service very effective and efficient. View of Singleton Park is very nice. Signal is very poor within each room. Not enough storage space for utensils in kitchen. In need of a communal area. Not enough storage space in rooms. Each floor needs a vacuum they can use, instead of having to rely on Presili.
Loan barely covers/doesn't cover accommodation fees, same for most of my flat mates. Only communal space is kitchen and it's very hot and small when all 8 flat mates are present. Overall still a really great residence!!
Stayed in halls my first year, would choose the same again if I had the choice, loved being on campus!
Penmaen - far too warm all the time, lifts always break, not enough room in the kitchen for all eight people, overpriced
I lived in the Penmaen building which was conveniently on campus but had no common rooms apart from the kitchen in each flat. It was close to the student union but that meant having to listen to the blasting music from the clubs late into the nights. I guess my room was nice but so overpriced! The staff at reception were horrible. The cleaners were horrible. The only nice people there were the repair people and trust me, I saw a lot of them! Between bathrooms (having no hot water for weeks on end is going to get anyone mad), doors (the supposedly amazing security was pants) and lifts breaking (which isn't fun when you live on the top floor), I could recite their life stories.
It was too expensive and there was no common room or socialising area, only the kitchen which usually stinks of food and oil and is too hot to even sit in there! They need to put in sitting areas or a living room! Also the showers in the en suites are tragic they over flow and you get stuck to the shower curtain.. Other than that it was fairly new so was clean and contemporary!
Langland is the best in my opinion. The rooms are spacious and clean, the building is secure and the cleaners are lovely and really helpful.
