Hated halls and had to move out. Was in a “quiet” flat but next door to one that wasn’t and the walls were so thin that I could hear every conversation up until 5am. The rooms were dated and dull and honestly felt like prison cells with how depressing it could be once the heavy fire door slammed shut.
It’s average, nice to have your own en suite and kitchen is an alright size. Definitely not worth £135 a week though. It never really felt clean and the walls are so thin. There are so many empty rooms and the social life is zero to none. I was stuck on the bottom floor with 3 other people I didn’t even talk to, with rarely anything going on in the common room. So if you’re looking for something more social definitely go to the halls in Southampton. Was so disappointing and was part of the reason my uni experience was so bad. Don’t recommend these halls at all to be honest
It's alright, but it's far from worth £117.60 a week. Cleaners are useless; mopping the kitchen floor with dirty water from previous houses that they've cleaned, moving all of our kitchen possessions from where they are, hiding tea towels, not vaccuming the hall way. The office staff are rude apart from one or two, losing post/package orders etc. The security on site are also rude, again with the exception of one or two and single out our flat (we're allowed to smoke outside the flat - when in large groups of 5/6 at a time and they have no problem at all with us doing so, but as soon as it's one person on their own they start threatening to fine us up to £50 for it). The kitchens are tiny, the rooms are also very poorly ventilated which causes build ups of thick, black mould all over the bathroom ceiling. The office staff are also very slow to notify the maintenance team about issues (it took two weeks for a maintenance man to come out to sort my ever expanding mould).
