If you live in Carroll Court, you don't go back to your room, you go home. It's friendly and sociable with decent sized rooms. Kitchen and living area may be small but are well equipped (apart from the lack of a toaster) and provide a nice place to relax with your housemates, who were excellent company in my house. Even though I was in the smallest room, I found the rooms to be a generous size, especially having seen other more expensive halls elsewhere. Whilst there is no cleaning service you are provided with the necessary items to keep your house tidy. The only downside is that the WiFi access point is in the roof space, which was pretty incompetent on the part of whoever put it there, so the WiFi can be a source of frustration. Some houses also had problems with kitchen equipment not working, but our house had next to no issues that we couldn't rectify ourselves. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who wants to feel at home! Also, a bath and garden space. Good features!

I think it’s overpriced. Yeah you get a good sized room and en-suite but the shower leaks into your room half the time. The size is no different to West Downs, it’s just marginally up to date. With my student finance I could only just afford this accommodation and my food shop money had to be subsidised by my parents. Cleaning and hall management wasn’t great. The lights stopped working in three of our hall bedrooms, mine included, and it took maintenance almost a week to fix the issue after coming, standing and staring and popping off for lunch and a coffee, they arrived at 8am on a Friday and changed the bulbs! Spaces were good, kitchen would benefit from more cupboard space. WiFi was appalling!! Same with phone signal!! Needs sorting ASAP!!

I really like Carroll court, I was sceptical before moving but I love it here. I’ve decorated my room and I feel at home. I’ve got a real sense of community inside my own house and the surrounding houses. It’s really close to my lectures. Also any problems with the accommodation are sorted very swiftly from complaint. (Would recommend!)

It was at the time the cheapest accommodation on campus, semi-detached houses in a "small village" of sorts. It's located right outside the main traffic way for the university, so it's easy to get anywhere from. Hall management was okay, if you had a problem it wouldn't be too long before someone came round and fixed it, the inspections were annoying though, they'd constantly be coming in on "routine fire drills" that are nothing more than chances to inspect rooms without giving prior notice. There are no cleaners or anything provided, but they do give you a sponge when you move in. The social experience is good, so long as you're an extrovert (lots of parties as there's less tight security guarding who comes in or out), and StudentCom, God I know it's a 3rd party company but it's dreadful nonetheless.

The accomodation is very nice. In each room there are all the things you need to study. The only single thing I don’t like are the thin walls. No other hall on campus has that thin walls.

was a decent house for the money, and although the lounge and kitchen were small there was a 'garden' outside the front door which was great in summer. if you can ask for one of the houses with a joined kitchen and lounge as I lived in one where they were separate and tiny. A lot less security than the student village, and that comes with pros and cons. no cleaners but the maintenance guys keep outside tidy and fix stuff in your house. rooms a and b are downstairs and c, d ,e f upstairs, with f being the smallest. if you live in carroll court 5 get a uv light and look at the writing on the ceiling from 12 years ago.
