If you live in Carroll Court, you don't go back to your room, you go home. It's friendly and sociable with decent sized rooms. Kitchen and living area may be small but are well equipped (apart from the lack of a toaster) and provide a nice place to relax with your housemates, who were excellent company in my house. Even though I was in the smallest room, I found the rooms to be a generous size, especially having seen other more expensive halls elsewhere. Whilst there is no cleaning service you are provided with the necessary items to keep your house tidy. The only downside is that the WiFi access point is in the roof space, which was pretty incompetent on the part of whoever put it there, so the WiFi can be a source of frustration. Some houses also had problems with kitchen equipment not working, but our house had next to no issues that we couldn't rectify ourselves. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who wants to feel at home! Also, a bath and garden space. Good features!
was a decent house for the money, and although the lounge and kitchen were small there was a 'garden' outside the front door which was great in summer. if you can ask for one of the houses with a joined kitchen and lounge as I lived in one where they were separate and tiny. A lot less security than the student village, and that comes with pros and cons. no cleaners but the maintenance guys keep outside tidy and fix stuff in your house. rooms a and b are downstairs and c, d ,e f upstairs, with f being the smallest. if you live in carroll court 5 get a uv light and look at the writing on the ceiling from 12 years ago.
