the lift was “to be fixed the next day” for a whole month when i had a broken leg with crutches and i had to climb five flights of stairs. my window was broken in winter and i was advised to “stuff a pair of old tights into it” the fridge was broken from the start and never fixed. we had a homeless man break in. someone was stabbed outside our door. i’ve been followed home and harassed my so many men here. the cameras don’t work and the cleaning isn’t free, they take a minimum of £30 from your deposit. every fire alarm costs you £5 from your deposit too.

Location is perfect because you are close to everything. Staff is really friendly and in case you need anything they are always trying their best! Some things takes time to sort out. Rooms are really nice. I really appreciate 3 years I spent in that halls where I could save time on travelling to get the best grade possible at University.

Location dreadful, always homeless people trying to break in. WiFi is dreadful. Appliances are broken and not fixed. Lift didn’t work half the year. And my floor had no heating for around 3 months. When complaining about these things there was no real effort made for a solution.

GOOD PLACE! I have stayed in this building for nearly 2 years and I think it is a nice place to be taken into account. Firstly, the washing machine and dryer are free, therefore you can save a lot of money for laundry. The speed of wifi is ok. As the accommodation gives the advance account for Sheffield wifi, I can use the wifi many places around the city centre. Besides, the building lies in the city centre, there are many supermarkets, and stores nearby. Finally, the house management ladies are nice and helpful, they are always available whenever I need help. Overall, I believe this is a good accommodation for students.

I lived here for three years and had the best experience! Don’t be put off by it’s exterior, this location is perfect for getting to uni, going on nights out and food shopping. The living spaces are large and social meaning there’s always a friend to talk to. The women that own the building are super friendly and approachable, if you have any issues you do not feel uncomfortable to talk to them. Washer and dryer was included in my bills on the second floor. The wash room is shared between you and the other eleven-ish people you live with. Plenty of fridge and freezer space and TV included in the kitchen which you do not need to provide a licence for. All in all this living space made my university experience enjoyable! I recommend to freshers and returning students as it is very safe and an amazing location.

Lived here two years. Flatmates are usually nice enough and with 15 people to a flat, there's always something going on. Location is absolute rubbish. Often there's homeless people outside, starting fights and trying to sneak their way into the building so you have to watch out for that but overall, you get what you pay for. Watch out for the lift and most kitchen appliances, they break A LOT but can't complain too much. It's cheap for a reason. Generally though, if you're nice to the housekeepers, they're nice to you and won't try to take extra from your deposit so it's worth living here if you're looking for somewhere cheap.

Didn’t have a problem all year with living in Kings Chambers, but wouldn’t recommend because I haven’t spoke to 1 person from our floor haven’t been mugged off with their despoit. You essentially have no ground to stand on and all they want is an extra couple of notes off of you. Kept my room clean, never lost a key card, didn’t ruin anything! But they still claim I lost a key card. Would not recommend if you have any opportunity to live anywhere else. No cleaner, you’re charged for everybody else’s mess even if your shelves are cleaned. Location is good but outside is a homeless soup kitchen and was approached daily and somebody from another floor was mugged but apparently the people who run the place said “the cctv didn’t cover”. Over priced for every floor but floor 1. If you’re going here; make sure you’re on floor 1 as every other floor is utterly s*** and have awful facilities and it looks like a youth hostel.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Maintenance is atrocious, the lift is not working much of the time for weeks on end. No-one cares. Light bulbs are not replaced for many days. Toilets had to be used using the light from a mobile phone. My daughter told staff she thought the overhead light fitting was faulty in her room and after waiting for many days, when the bulb was finally replaced it popped and fizzed out again the same day. The heating broke for 3 days over winter and no-one showed any sense of urgency to fix it. Two students (separate incidents) were robbed at KNIFEPOINT, one outside the entrance to the block, one INSIDE the porch. NO additional security measures were introduced. The area is on the edge of the city shops, surrounded on two sides by closed units. It is common on an almost daily basis to see overdosed junkies nearby. The owners of this building should be ashamed of themselves, as should the university for recommending it.

The location is good and there are lots of shops in this area. Building isn't great from the outside and the 1st and 2nd floor are really nice and have been done up. The internet isn't great but it works I think a lot of people have on line games which isn't great. Friendly staff. We have communal areas cleaned every week. May stay here next year but not sure yet.

Just finishing my first year here and have applied to come back. The location is good and the building secure. Had a few issues with people living here but these were dealt with.

I did have a few problems at kings chambers, but that was down to the people I was living with rather than the accommodation itself - so could have happened anywhere. Kings chambers is one of the only student accommodation that provides flats shared with 15 people rather than just 3/4 others so there is always something going on, people around to talk to and it's guaranteed that you will definitely find others that you like. It is the perfect place for freshers to live. Yes, it can get noisy and messy, but it's a great place to live socially and it's student accommodation, so what do you expect? If you enjoy gaming then the wifi will be a problem. A lot of people complained about it, but it was completely fine for me to do my university assignments. It is in a perfect location, only a 5 minute walk from the city campus, city centre, and the tram stop which goes to Meadowhall across the road. I only lost £70 of my deposit, which was completely reasonable due to the reasons.

Again, avoid this accommodation at all costs. Experienced multiple problems over the year with appliances, had building work right outside the window for over a month and charges to the deposit seem as if they are attempting to profit as much as they can from you. Wifi was dreadful, and should you have problems at the accommodation, you probably won't get it addressed for a long time, or in certain cases, throughout your whole tenancy.

Landlord took money off deposit and never said why, kept coming in the kitchen for 'flat meetings', held inspections which no-one knew about then docked money from deposit for flat not being clean. Also had builiding work at exam season
