If I had the chance to choose halls again I would, hands down pick FloBo again. I had the best experience possible in these halls and can't emphasize enough how sociable it is. Unlike other halls at UoN, you're not in flats or blocks so it's more like in a hotel layout where everyone goes to mealtimes together, meaning you get a chance to know everyone regardless of where their room is. I'd say one of the most underrated halls on campus.
Covid-19: They have said we don't have to pay for third term accommodation (some other unis aren't doing this)
Full of weird Home Counties types. Think ‘rah’, Fila trainers with bootcut jeans and pretending to be drubk after a half glass of Echo Falls. Dirty rooms with intrusive cleaners. Silverfish in every catered hall I went to in first year. Food portions were atrocious and the food was terrible, especially when the cost of living in catered is similar to London uni halls/flats.
The absolute best experience in this hall. You literally get to know every person due to its 'big house' lay out rather than seperated blocks like other halls on campus. Could not recommended it enough. Wish I could do the year all over again!
It's one big house and notseparated into flats. That means you get to know people easily but if someone comes back from a night out they're going to wake everyone up. You will barely sleep during first semester when everyone's going out all the time. Food is either great or rubbish. Everything's averagely clean and the location isnt far from LASS, humanities and Portland.
