Listen i will be completly blunt here. whilst i believe that this hall is good in terms of the location in the campus and the comfy bed. I have been disapointed with the internet, the hall management and the cleaners. Tbh i think this particular halls has done well this summer, is just that student halls in general is rubbish and im glad for my second year i will be living alone in a house as i couldn't get close to my flatmates (We got along but we were not friends)
Living in halls is great, you have all the people you will socialise with right next to you. You will have your flat, they will be your new family, make sure to respect each other and look after your space. But most of all have fun, halls kitchens are great places for pre-drinks if you fancy going out. They are also fun to decorate for halloween, christmas, etc. We didn't use the common room that much, can be good for big groups to watch a movie or celebrate someones birthday. The internet was okay, wifi not so good. We had a lovely lady called Sue who would walk around the halls and check everything was okay. She occasionally had to ask us to turn our music down, we always tried to persuade her to join our fun. Having your new found friends really close is great for spending time with them and if you fall out with people you know there are more people around you that will be there for you.
the location of the accommodation is very handy as it is close to the uni shop and the library and sporting facilities are only a short walk away. Although an en suite is provided the price of the accommodation is very high and not covered by student loan for many people .
Accommodation team are lovely! Cant do more to help and even helped me a few times when it wasn't their job to (maintenance and I.T issue). I went to them when I was having an issue with home and the spoke with me gave me advice about summer lets and then arranged for one of their residential life team to come and visit me in the evening to check up on me. Internet was a little faulty but only in halls - the campus internet was fine. I think the halls were great value for money! I went to a few Uni visits before this one and their halls are 10X better! Main issue with halls was that it was difficult getting hold of a hoover - you can borrow one but sometimes it could take a week before you get one. I like the residential life team but it can be obvious that some care more than others ... Would also like to say that I love the accommdation team and Residential life are available during school holidays :)
