Discovery Heights has a good central location for easy access to the city centre as well as the university campus. It has great friendly staff and spacious modern rooms with massive desks. However there is a problem with this building which you have to experience to get a feel for: the walls between rooms are paper thin which can give you anxiety, the kitchens are dark and dingy with poor lighting and in some cases not even a usable surface for the flat to have a meal together and socialise. I know peoples experiences have differed however in my opinion this is not a friendly place and promotes a terrible social environment for making friends.

The price is pretty reasonable. I paid £135 a week (though I think its reducing in price) Convenient location, next to the uni, a tesco express, sainsbury's and the town centre Hall management is okay. Often there was nobody at the front desk which is annoying. you can call the hall volunteers anytime if you get locked out of your flat or something They clean our kitchens well, however they only come once a fortnight which is annoying as kitchens can get dirty very easily. note: you have to take out your own bins and recycling out to the ground floor Common room has a pool table, Foosball table, TV and some sofas. THE WIFI IS APPALLING!!!!!!!!! It shuts down every five mins and I have to turn it on and off again!!! Maybe it will get better when it fully switches from Unite Students to Host? idk
Currently living in Discovery Heights and it is honestly the noisiest place I've ever lived in. I understand that it is in the city centre, but there are absolutely no rules on respecting other people with the noise late at night. People can get away with blasting loud music until the early morning and I am not getting any good sleep here. Expect your bathroom to be super moldy with black dirt in between bathroom tiles. The only good thing is the location but it is a very dirty accommodation with never-ending noise late at night. Girls and guys screaming and chanting under your flat, blasting music until midnight, glass bottles being thrown around, and motorbikes going off at random late night hours. Please don't repeat my mistake and live in a private flat away near the residential areas.
Lovely halls, very friendly staff
Best location in the city. Right next to the uni, while still being close to shops and other clubs.
Lived here three years ago and they were the best halls on campus. They've recently been taken over by the university so have become allot stricter making them a lot less social.
As close as you could possibly be with an awesome common room and friend security 34/7. Disco heights is the place to be!

Nice halls but too expensive for the money
Only downside is the single bed. Better than the other halls who have wet rooms rather than separate showers, 2 ovens and 2 hobs (8 rings) per kitchen which is also more than other halls. Incredibly sociable.
The en-suite rooms provide you with everything you need to live comfortably. Kitchens are large and spacious with sofas which makes them great for socializing! The common room area features x2 large flat screen TVs surrounded by sofas and beanbag chairs, a pool table, table tennis, a football table and on-site laundry facilities. Tesco is also right next door!
Good location to the university and the city centre, good RA's
very impressive, only problems have been with one of two lifts breaking down occasionally, but that's not too bad, at no point have both broken. The management, Mel in particular, are very professional yet extremely friendly and approachable, I often have a chat with whoevers on reception. They're always keen to help you as best they can.
Perfect location - better than Radnor/Pilgrim/Gillwell as right opposite uni and right next to Drake Circus and highstreet. The perfect place to spend first year. All staff are lovely and very attentive if there are any issues, maintenance also brilliant if there's an issue. At the end of the year they didn't nit pick to take money out of the deposit.
Only really bad thing I can say is that the road is quite noisy and the building work disturbs some people down that end of the building

Literally across the road from the uni. Handy Tesco little below halls. Right by Drake Circus shopping centre. Maintenance will fix any issues usually within one working day!
Great location, good staff, nice communal areas and well maintained. Super bunch of people, very social and always something going on. Very overpriced and extra charges for damage/replacements/extra cleaning etc are extortionate.
Rubbish to be honest. Good position right by campus but that's about it. Badly planned building with idiots living in it, run by people who don't care.
It was alright, the people were better than the place.
£129 a week was not at all worth it, paying £50 a week more than you would in a house is ridiculous for what you actually get in halls, it is noisy and people will steal your things. The halls staff don't deal properly with complaints at all. Save the money don't live here.
fantastic halls, just so expensive
Over priced with a long contract however, they all are. Great staff, close to uni and pretty much everything else. It's a very fun, communal area with games room study room eat, the view from my room is incredible you can see all of Plymouth and out to the sea, you can even see Cornwall in the Horizon, in winter the sun sets over the hills and you can see the silhouette of the whole city. Very easy going resident assistant who give you very little bother if the party wants to go on a bit longer. If I had to do it all again I would choose discovery 10 times out of 10
poor at enforcing illegal behavior
Disco is in a fantastic location! So close to campus yet away from the noisy night life! It's a very sociable building with long corridors so opportunity to meet other flats! Fantastic common room facilities! And a great view of the city if you are lucky enough to be on the south side of the building!
Discovery Heights has been nearly faultless, it is in the perfect location and it probably has the best common room out of all the others
