Was very nice to be near both Frobisher and St Teresa halls made for geat socials, Tesco and Sainsbury are near by for late night booze runs. It's quite far to any of the clubs however, but closer to oceana than any others. Also walking up the hill to uni every day will give you the calfs of a god. Decent food shops and hairdressers along the main road too.
But expensive for what you got as the location is quite far from university, you have to go up two huge hills to get to campus. Common room was a bit run down during my year there and never had my pool cues. It also got quite noisy after 1am and nothing was done until complaints were made.
If you're in a top floor flat, you get nothing for the amount you pay! You have a tiny kitchen that's much smaller than those in other flats, stiff doors because of the insane wind that'll keep you up all night, and during the spring and summer months, being at the top means it's super hot. I had a poor experience in terms of halls management, and wouldn't recommend unite as a business. These halls are further out than most, and it can be a bit of a treck to get into uni, but with a Tesco and Sainsburys near by, the location really isn't that bad. Unite also promise a lot of events, primarily in the common room, but in reality, even if they actually did put on these events or not cancel them last minute, the common room is so tiny and shared with another building that no event could really facilitate any number of residents anyway! The rooms are great, but management and general facilities aren't the best. I'd recomend using one of the uni owned halls from my experience this year
Really not worth it if you can get a house share with other students you are likely to get on with, although the social side is fun. £123 per week is too expensive for the poor shower drainage, the fact that some 6 room flats have 1 cooker, compared to 7 room flats having 2, some flats are refurbished compared to others that aren't, 11.30 music cut off, windows open only slightly so in the summer/September it is unbearably hot, esp after a shower or in the kitchen.
