Except for the location (above 40 mins to the city centre), everything's good. There is a convenient Sainsbury where you can buy anything including duvet and kitchen equipments. It's excellent place for who study in Denmark hill campus.

The rooms, kitchens etc are quite modern and good quality however, the social experience I have had at Champion hill hasn’t been what I expected it to be. I was put in a kitchen mainly with postgraduates and as I am an undergraduate this meant I didn’t really get the opportunity to meet people who are a similar age to myself. I received noise complaints when I would have a friend over as my flatmates were older therefore, I feel it would make a lot more sense if the residence put undergraduates together and postgraduates together to avoid this happening. Another inconvenience was that you can only get in your own block and floor using your keycard so if you have a friend in another block or even in the same block but on the floor above you, they have to come down and let you in. I just felt that this made it even more difficult to socialise. This is completely a personal experience however, I did feel that security were quite rude to me at times and also my guests.

There are very limited types of rooms, and all students need to share the kitchen. Problems are stealing the juices, and using my equipments without telling me. I have a horrible neighbour who almost having party with his girlfriend everyday at his room, which makes me f**kin crazy. I feel annoyed and exhausted for hearing the sound at 3 a.m., and I reported the issue to the manager. The manager met me and the first thing she said was that she was sure that my neighbour did not make noise, and asked me to move a room. Poor management and care for residences, and the security guard (after 8 p.m.) speaks poor English and had never understood my words. The soundproofing effect is really poor. I can even hear what the boy opposite my room sings at his room. The worst experience ever at champion hill. NOT recommend any undergraduates (especially freshmen) coming here.

Pathetic security guards and receptionists. Learn to speak English and stop loosing our parcels. And stop being so aggressive when completing tasks within your job description.

Considering the price you're paying for this zone 2 residence, it's not that worthy. The distance from central city and lack of convenient transportation is a major setback. Although Denmark Hill Station is just around the corner, the schedule of the train could drive you crazy most of the time and time consuming. The maintenance of this place is basically a disaster, and they never make compensation for anything that went wrong. If you have the money, find some other place.

Rooms and kitchen are wonderful and the gym, piano and laundry facilities are very convenient. However, some of the staff at reception treat you like they're doing you a favuor. The way the postal system is handled is a shambles and is time consuming and inefficient. A personal experience where i had to wait till 5 when they allow you to pick it up (after sending you an email) only to be told i haven't got any mail.

The place is very noisy with the undergraduates shouting and singing at night, even they actually stated that quiet hour is after 11pm. They had a really lousy design with the toilet that you can't even clean it by yourself unless you want to flood your own room since there's no drainage holes in it. If you just tried to add 5 pounds a week to the rooms facing the street, it'll be a lot more quiet which is ironic. The launderette is equipped with washing machine and drying machine which you can only top-up online using debit/credit card. The kitchen is overcrowded with 10 people sharing 3 fridges and 2 hobs and ovens. The sound-proof effect is poor that you can hear all the voices from upstairs with stepping and opening/closing their closets. Sometimes students smoke in the stairs and the smell could contaminated the air in the flat. The mail-box system here is a mess considering over 700 people staying in the hall. The only advantage of it is it's really near Denmark Hill campus.

I ended up moving out of champion hill 2 months after arriving due to the state of the room I was given. The window didn't shut, the cleaners hadn't touched anything since the last occupant (trust me there was given skid marks in the toilet), there wasn't a hoover which was horrible with all the previous persons hair everywhere, the shower didn't work and the fridges had old food rotting in them from months ago. I made 25 complaints in all and not one of them had been sorted when I left. It was utterly horrific, and considering how much you pay, it's a complete rip off.

The only big problem with living here is that there is no common room. The rooms, kitchens and bathrooms are all decent. There's quite a hill to climb to get to the house, but it is rewarded by a great view.

Everything's excellent here except for the location. It's over 40 minutes to city centre, and sometimes it's longer because of heavy traffic.

People worry about the distance from campuses, but it's not bad at all. You can get to all the campuses under 20 minutes via trains (and tube for Strand). Less than a 10 minute walk to two train stations (Denmark Hill and East Dulwich) to easily get you to central London. Buses are regular and run through the night. Lovely and modern rooms with 3/4 beds and an IPTV. Really nice en suite with a big shower (not a wetroom like many other accommodations). Large and modern kitchens with big flatscreen TVs. Grassy areas in the accomodation and a big common room with a pool table. A music room. The launderette could be a little bigger and the receptionists can be quite rude but it's a really nice accommodation other than that. The Camberwell area is good too - there's a Wetherspoons pub right next door with cheap drinks and a beer garden, and there's a big Sainsbury's a 5 minute walk away (with accommodation in the centre, they will only be near local and express supermarkets).
