batavia mews is the cheapest hall at goldsmiths. the cleaning service is the most thorough ive seen in any halls, and the rooms are fairly big. the furniture is low quality but functional. the social scene is almost non-existent, ive spent most of my time in other halls. the proximity to campus is amazing, but the actual location on batavia road is not nice - you enter from the back through an industrial bin area for the restaurants etc the halls is above, and you get onto the road through a shady side alley where drunk people linger at night (seen SO many people urinating as I walk past). the wifi was broken in my flat for a good month or two before they fixed it even though i reported it several times, and when it was fixed it broke again a week later for another few days. now its much slower than it was before. the security at batavia is the most lax of all the halls, there is rarely ever a security guard on shift in the booth. overall the halls is cheap and doable but not luxurious
