The price is ridiculous seeing as it's going up every year and you don't even get wifi, a mirror or a sink in your room. Or an oven in your kitchen (although you get a hob which most of the other halls at Carnatic do not) or a common room in your building (it's in the main Carnatic building but you can't drink in there and you share it with another house). The halls are catered and the food is a bit hit and miss but usually okay (on the odd occasion even decent) and at least there's a cooked breakfast every day. The social side to living in Morton (or Carnatic Halls in general) is really great, one of the best places to be for socialising with other students and although the uni is a bus ride away, the 699 last bus in to town is always a laugh!

A complete joke for accommodation. The standards of this place are so bad you'll be better off living inside one of Crown Place's Bathrooms. Sure you get some nice people around, there's always people to talk to you but that's almost a problem in a way. The walls are paper thin, you can even hear the poop plopping in the toilets. Last week, the cleaner threw all our shampoos in the bins from the shower. The ventilation is TERRIBLE, rooms get stuffy within minutes. Can't sleep at night because of noisy idiots. We don't get ANY SINK OR MIRRORS and pay same as Rankin. Lets talk about the food. The food is outright awful. Catered here is just about the worst thing ever. You basically are paying £40 a week for a terrible preheated breakfast, that NEVER changes, just rock hard hashbrowns and premade eggs and sausage from a factory somewhere. The cereals are almost always stale, and yes they are the cheap Aldi knock-off ones not the nice original Kelloggs ones.DO NOT GO HERE THIS PLACE SUCKS

Sure you get some nice people around, there's always people to talk to you but that's almost a problem in a way. What if you get **** flatmates? Everyone keeps saying "oh it's a right laugh on the 11:30 bus for a night out". Well ok fair enough maybe some people like going on nights out, I mean I can't say I enjoy it but if people like going on a bus at 11:30 at night with an a**ehole bus driver and a bunch of sick everywhere, well I ain't gonna stop you. Lets talk about the food. The food is outright awful. Catered here is just about the worst thing ever. Social as f**k, love having to not think about washing up from cooking. Facilities are basic but just means the more damage you can get away with

Not worth the amount of money you have to pay. Food is almost edible, most of the time when there's not mold or hair in it The buses are frequent enough on weekdays but nonexistant on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The common room is shared between 500 people and there's only 10 seats and it gets locked at 11. The only place to predrink is the corridor or the toilets. The kitchen is smaller than a small bathroom and shared between 12 people and only the middle floor get an oven. The only benefit to this hall is that everyone feels let down and works hard to make the best of it, so its probably more social than campus halls. Apply for McNair or Salisbury instead if you really have to live in carnatic.
