Be very wary of staying at this university halls. When I was there, they provided me with an old mattress and burnt hob and then had the cheek to try and charge me at the end of the year for a dirty mattress and a burnt hob. It turned out that they were replacing hundreds of mattresses that year. What a coincidence. If you do decide to live here, ensure you take several photographs before you move in and write down every little scratch that is present on your moving in forms.
Good location, wasted by the way it is ran. The staff are incredibly unprofessional and don't carry out procedures correctly at all. The people staying here are even worse. Known across Liverpool as 'the boring accommodation'. If you drink, you get reported to reception. If you have friends round, you get reported to reception. If you leave the door on latch you get reported to reception. If you want to enjoy your uni experience, look elsewhere. (Watch out for pink haired vegans).
It's great location, St George's hall is on your door step and close to the shops, such as Aldi and Sainburies, etc. But depending where your room is, in the front (city view) you have the best view, but the cars and buses start up around 7ish in the morning. Also the drunk people are about late at night and early hours.. While at the back, Station View, y it's quieter, but there is a weatherspoons underneath, so you can hear people outside sometimes in the beer garden, in the morning, you can sometimes hear beer barrells be reloaded and so forth. There are no living rooms in these halls, so don't come expecting any. Also there is only a small lobby area to socialise with a pool table. There are no cleaners, only inspections, so you have to be on top of cleaning. Other than the negatives, the staff are quick to fix stuff, what you are paying the location is good. The floors and walls are thin, so you can hear people marching about whoever is above you, also creaky beds.. *cough*
Excellent value for money. Great location close to concert square and LJMU. Staff very helpful and fix problems quickly. Only issue is that there's only a kitchen with uncomfortable chairs. No social space/sitting room. Other than that, great accommodation and very secure. I'd highly recommend it.
Great place to live! Friendly staff that are always happy to help; great location right across from the Library and The Engine Shed! Also, all the flats are lovely with dishwashers and en suites!! Wouldn't choose anywhere else :)
