I lived at Austin Halls during the Covid 19 pandemic however even despite of this these halls are not a great place to be living in general. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything in the room beside you or across from your wall, and I mean absolutely everything. The heating is hardly ever on and went it is on it's on during summer. The cleaners never cleaned the kitchen, they just yelled during the morning from 9am onwards with no consideration for those doing remote classes in our rooms, and always left the windows wide open so every wasp in the country could come in. The halls location is right on campus however the location is no where near the city or near any major supermarkets (other than one small Tesco express a mile away) by walking distance. The room itself was fine and so was the bed. During isolation, their ordering app didn't work so it was impossible to get food without sending about 3-4 emails begging for it. The Wifi was shocking.
Literally the best halls going.. *Cough*(Angela)*Cough*. The most social halls going, although you get enough privacy, the floors are usually open for you to socialise with everyone. Shared facilities sound grim, but they're really not! Cleaned everyday Monday-Friday, toilet roll is included! Couldn't imagine myself anywhere else
The most social halls on campus. If you're not part of these halls then you'll most likely gutted. Although Angela and Austin are 'enemies', we can always come together for a laugh and drink before a top night out
Best halls at hope park. Everyone thinks shared bathrooms will be grim but they get cleaned every day and you only share between 4. Live with more people than you would in en suite which personally I think is better because there's more chance you'll meet people you want to be friends with and it also means there's always something going on in the flat. Probably not the best halls if you want a quiet time hahaha.
