It's a long walk up the steep never ending (it seems like it anyway) steps to uni but it really is a good place to live! It's really secure, the staff are so friendly, the shop is a life saver, when I was there the socials were pretty good and at the same time it's quiet enough to study and far enough from uni to take a break. Maintenance requests were pretty quick to get done too - the only thing is that the lifts occasionally/semi-regularly broke or were vomited it (why on earth would you do that?! It has a mini garden in the courtyard perfect for this!!) and were rendered unusable, which is a pain if your carrying your bike up to your room on the 8th floor. But I really enjoyed living there and I would strongly recommend it to anyone considering living here!!

Great location, 10/15 min walk to both campus and the city centre and also about 15 min walk from an ALDI. Internet was awful though and some flat issues weren't dealt with very quickly such as hot water going off.

Living in The Tannery has had it's pros and cons, overall it's a decent accommodation but it certainly has it's downfalls especially if you're not a medical/dental student. For medical and dental students the walk to Uni is a 10-12 minute stroll, for me, it's a 20-25 climb up a very steep hill and is massively inconvenient. The flats are nice, you get a massive desk, comfy double bed, a big kitchen with a social space. The colour scheme is ridiculously ugly but you get used to it. You don't get a TV, kettle, toaster or iron which is annoying seeing as you are paying the same if not more as other accommodations who do. Overall, the Tannery has lovely flats and is quite social, I'd definitely recommend it for Medics, but I would suggest other students to look elsewhere due to the poor location and value to money.

Good atmosphere and very helpful with any issues. Very close to the uni and city centre. 10 minute walk from most things.

The halls are constantly smell like vomit. The management is really bad, once my room got flooded and they didn't do anything for a week; then there was no hot water in my flat so I had to go and get a shower in a different location. The location is ok, it's 15 minutes from the Business School, but you can definitely find something better for that money. Would not recommend.

I didn't pick here originally but when I moved in I was pleasantly surprised - really nice rooms, bathrooms and communal spaces. The location is really good for the city and for uni, but you are quite far away from the main student areas in Leeds. The Nisa is handy and there are lots of local shops. Really safe, secure, clean and quiet. I was really happy here and I would definitely recommend to a first year student.

Had the best first year in this halls, 10 minute walk to city centre, 20 minute walk to uni but £1 buses run every 10 minutes. Really sociable halls, always socials on and random parties and people heading out for a night out. Meet a lot of people in freshers here too, staff are really helpful and not too bad for noise.

15/20minute up hill walk to uni. The rooms and kitchens have plenty of space. The common room is good but doesn't not get used as much as I thought it would.

Lucky that I get on really well with my flat mates as you don't really socialise with anyone else. Quite far to walk every day to uni and a bit expensive considering this.

I was so disappointed when I found out I was leaving in the Tannery because I thought it was so far from uni but now I really enjoy the short walk to uni (it takes around 10-15 minutes) and we are so close to town. You don't really need to use public transport. Moreover, social life is incredible. I only know one person who put this accommodation as her first option and I think this is one of the reasons that has made people be more willing to socialize. In addition, after having been in other accomodations the size of our rooms is what every student needs to feel at home far away from it. The bathrooms may look like plane toilets but is a very good point to have it in your room and not having to share with anyone. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this place.

No social committee when I lived there until the Easter term. Nevertheless, the location and flats themselves were nice.

Each room in the flat is a different size but they all cost the same? Might just be us but we don't really know anybody else on our floor. It's quite close to uni and the rooms are nice

You probably wont have chosen The Tannery and you probably haven't heard of it. You're also probably disappointed that you didn't get Henry Price. When you arrive at The Tannery and for the first few weeks, you probably wont like it that much. But after time you'll realise that the people are lovely, Nisa is amazing and The Tannery is actually pretty damn good.

Terrible value for money, charging a fortune for what other accoms offer at a basic level. Had no hot water for a week despite complaints. Overall wouldn't ever recommend.

Only really good for students studying a healthcare course as it is full of those students generally. Location is close to town and relatively close to the uni.

The rooms and kitchen in the Tannery are large and comfortable. However for the money we don't get a lot included and because we pay more the people seem to be generally more snobby. The location is brilliant as it is so handy for both town and the uni, however it is slightly excluded from the student vibe as the halls don't socialise.

Might be out of the way from other Uni Accommodation and not as well known - but provides a great all round experience, close to uni, close to the city, lots of students around.

Nearly everyone in our block didn't choose it, it is an extremely in sociable set up! There's loads of nurses and international students. Luckily I've made good friends but you have to try hard and make an effort

The kitchen area is out dated compared to other halls. You may also have a problem with silverfish in your bedroom... Good ensure facilities but showrr cubicle is a bit crammed. Good size bedroom.
