Rooms are dingy and small. Cleaners are rude not friendly and inconsiderate with noise in early mornings they take your stuff if it's left out which is shit as I'm not in fucking primary school, however great for socialising.
Food is such low quality. Someone was taken to hospital after being told the food didn't contain a certain allergen (plot twist: it did). Warden didn't help out when we needed an ambulance (we're told to go to them and they'll sort it out). However they will show up knocking if you brush your teeth too loudly. Silverfish. Silverfish everywhere. Silverfish under the bed. Silverfish in the kitchen. Silverfish in the cupboards. This is the best place to live in the first year - but don't mistake that for being good. If you want to hang out, it'll be on the stairs because surprise - they're storing duvets in the designated social spaces! The washers are expensive (£4 for wash and dry), and you'll be lucky to find a good one - about half of them will be 'out of order' at any given time. Now you just have to find a washing machine without stagnating water in it - you'll be hard pressed to find one, I assure you. Cottingham is a nice area, however. Good social experience though.
Amazing first year experience; the Lawns is a safe, social environment with something always going on. Great rooms in our hall with lots of space and good kitchen facilities. No social common room but lots of hall space and a random room which we nicknamed the Pizzatorium. Great for transport to and from uni/ nightclubs.
The rooms smell really bad because of the carpet, and since 24 september the ladies that clean our bathroom only took the bin from the kitchen and not from the bathroom and we have a pile of paper coming out of the bin. But the smells in this block are annoying and the wifi too becuz sometimes it works good and most of the times it wont work .
