Great halls, fab value for money, huge rooms and shared bathrooms. Doesn't feel like sharing, I've never queued, and these are cleaned by the cleaners so you have a lovely clean environment. It is the furthest away from facilities but only by about 30 seconds walking from the other blocks nearby. There are no common rooms in reichel, however most people tend to congregate in the kitchens. Due to the open corridor layout it is a very social halls and there is alaways a party going on somewhere! never had any internet problems there is wired internet and WiFi. Fantastic view from my desk as well, can see the beautiful Menai Bridge.
Reichel is the best hall on campus. It's the most social and you know everyone. It can sometimes be noisy but generally if asked people will keep the noise down. On the noise note, it is at the far end of Ffriddoedd site therefore you don't have everyone come past your building after a night out so is quiet in that sense. It's easy to meet everyone during freshers. The site is generally friendly and well kept. Maintenance staff and cleaners are lovely, only complaint is they can be slightly noisy first thing in the mornign
Moved to reichel mid way through the year to save money and because I wasn't having the social experience I wanted, and I have to say reichel is by far the best halls for both! Unlike the flats, reichel is more like a dorm, with corridors with bedrooms dotted along, so you can be friends with anyone. The only downside to the others is the communal bathroom however they are cleaned daily by the cleaners and even toilet roll is provided for you, and after having an en suite I found it was no trouble sharing.
Bedrooms are larger than other halls but cheaper as you share a bathroom. Doesn't feel like sharing a bathroom as you never have to wait or queue to use the facilities and they get cleaned by cleaners. Kitchens are a decent size and the building is great for parties as its all ongoing corridors, no flats so you can just leave doors open for a good mingle around the building! it is at the far end of the main site but still only a ten minute walk from morrisons, a five minute walk from bar uno and a two minute walk from the gym.
really friendly, even if you don't get on with the whole of your flat you can mingle with anyone on your floor (of 56 people or so) communal bathroom is nice, sharing isn't bad. I don't have to clean it like others in ensuite do :)
