Read Mansion Fountainbridge Reviews
There has been continuous construction for the length of our lease and the past year. This is incredibly distracting especially when revision weeks come along during the busy exam periods. There is no social area in this accomodation and only one shower between all 4-6 residents in each flat. The location of this residence is suitable for students of ECA and not too far a walk from the central campus at Potterow however, when travelling to King's campus it is either a 20 minute walk to Potterow followed by the free shuttle bus provided by the uni or a 50 minute walk down to King's. The laundry facilities are very poor. There are simply not enough washers or driers for the number of students living in Mansion Fountainbridge and the quality of the equipment is awful for the price to pay per wash (£2.80 per wash, £1.50 per dry). The car park is also a large problem for any students who want to bring along their cars to university. Very tight and never a space for actual residents.
Ridiculous amount of money for what it is, considering we have had construction work next door and no peace as they leave equipment on during the night so you can’t sleep. The flat is falling apart and no one has been doing anything despite our numerous complaints, and little was done about our ex-flat mate that smoked in her room and stunk up the whole flat directly against our lease… met my besties here but cannot wait to leave because it’s disgusting (also parking is a massive issue, if you don’t get here before the work rush then you don’t get a space because all the Range Rover owners around here take them all and this is something that management is so obviously aware of but just don’t care enough to do anything, therefore forcing us to have to park somewhere we have to pay until all the w****** who don’t live here leave)
I loved living here. Room spacious enough, yes we had to share a bathroom but it was never an issue. Kitchen spacious and we had a tv! It was rather quiet, people only really socialised in freshers then stuck with those people. Cleaning weekly, wifi always perfect. Only downside is the washing is outside and there is only like 5 washers for 3 blocks of flats... so don't leave it till last minute! Location excellent.
Horrible experience. Multiple complaints and attempted to leave but recieved no help. All my complaints were ignored and I was told I hadn't informed management of my issues when I tried to leave. Attempting to replace my room with another student also got ignored and they are still trying to demand payments off me 2 months after the contract ended and was fully paid up. Horrible experience. The building is in the centre of the city, student parties that security wont do anything about, primary school next door gives screaming weans all morning and the drunks screaming all night. Complaining about any rule breaking resulted in a blanket e-mail to the whole building.. no action taken ever (smoking, parties, theft). Students from my flat stole food from the kitchen and when I complained was told it was 'shared accomodation' so basically 'deal with it'. The toilet was so cold I shivered my way through every shower. Horrible accomodation, I'd suggest avoiding it entirely.
