I love living in this accommodation. Indeed, the wifi connection is not that strong, but that's no problem. The location and outdoor space are perfect. Management wise, it's brilliant. Danielle and Anne are the most welcoming and kind people who always listen and trying their best to help you out. I love that I can come to Danielle with anything, and she is always there for me. I've never met such lovely people. Thanks to them, living in Abbey Lodge feels like home.

Was initially unsure about not staying in official Uni halls for first year, however, for the price, I am incredibly happy that I chose to live here instead. It is much more affordable whilst still meeting my basic needs for uni accommodation. Decent sized room and bed with a nice sized kitchen and toilet/showers (had no issues with clashes for usage). Good Wifi connection also. There is a bus service that runs practically right outside which can take you into town, but it is not part of the UniBus service and you will have to pay. I generally find walking to be just fine, and can easily walk to the main Kedleston campus in around 30-35 minutes. The staff here are lovely and very helpful, especially as there was a change in management (from FRESH to CRM) which did create a few technical issues. The site team were always able to help answer any questions or issues I had. It's not the fanciest accommodation you can find, but it does the job and for the price, I couldn't be happier!
Absolutely terrible accommodation and a large reason why university for me personally was such a disaster last year. While they may have offered me a room switch when I requested one as I wasnt getting on with my flatmates, they were more than happy to dispose of hundreds pounds of equipment and clothes when I went home during the second lockdown. I suffer from mobility issues and extreme hip pain and having refused to offer me any help moving my heavy furniture while I was actually living there they reneged on their promise to keep my things safe. Aside from that the maintenance staff are extremely unreactionary and our flat was littered with mechanical faults, my sink wouldnt drain water, the shower made an awful sound when turned on and when our toilet wouldnt flush it took weeks for them to offer assistance. DONT GO HERE!
I do not recommend this place at all as I have left . The staff do not help when it comes to addressing troubling situations with other students and the STAFF are also in on it as well which i am completely shocked and it is very unprofessional. The staff pretend to be genuine and understanding but they are not. I have COMPLETELY lost respect for them. The social life is very much boring and not much to do so, do not come to this place. It is very depressing and you will be very much home sick so save your time and money. Coming into student rooms at random times without letting you know and i did not feel secure or safe. Horrible place. Do better Abbey Lodge!
I loved my experience at Abbey Lodge, they have a beautiful social space. The rooms are quite big with loads of storage space. The management is very friendly and they are close to local stores.
Staff are absolutely amazing and always make you feel confident and loved. Rooms are good value for money. The only issue I have is the noise created by other students at night but that's to be expected. Other than that it's great value for money

Lovely stuff, I really like communal areas, location very good for me.
The staff are very lovely people. they do bare activities to keep fun going and give prizes as well.
I have now lived at Abbey Lodge for the last 2 years and it’s so easy and convenient for me as I have placement at the hospital which is only a 15 min walk away and there is a free bus to the university. All the staff are amazing and very understanding and have done such a good job to keep everyone happy for the last year.
I've lived at Abbey Lodge for almost two years now and honestly it's been great. The rooms are really cosy yet well sized, the complex itself is really nice and green and quiet. The members of staff are absolutely lovely and very welcoming. I've genuinely enjoyed living here and it's definitely been good value for money.
Brilliant accommodation, staff are lovely and welcoming and happy to help you.
This is the worst University or learning institution I have been to. My agent had registered and sold me with this University for the MBA program. I went there for the first few days with high hope of getting a positive academic result. However, the teaching quality from the team is unimaginably poor, some of the teachers do not even speak proper Eglish, that leaving all the students with a huge confusion. When I try to ask for academic guides from the team through email, they would not reply for days. On the other hand, the teaching team has a weird marking criteria-they have failed my coursemates who are motivated and engaged with the course but allow other students who opt-out with paying people for writing their essays. This is UNFAIR!!!!! They would also rigorously ask for money because you have failed the unit with a week's notice. Honestly, this is unbearable and unacceptable in the UK education system. When it comes for documents work-the University will not corporate
Expensive and untidy uclan university
I didn’t have a great time here, it was worse than I ever expected.
