There are cracks in the odd wall, dirty windows when we arrived, appliances are broken/breaking, wifi can be temperamental, but the view is amazing exactly what you expect for student accommodation, nothing too fancy and affordable.
Value for money was great and waking up to the sea every morning right on your doorstep was fab. We had to clean and had regular inspectios, which was fine. Hall management... I think we met a hall monitor once when he introduced himself but other than that, we didn't have any interaction really but I suppose for some people it's good to know there is a point of contact. Wifi was fine although as we soon found out, there is a daily allowance, I believe it's something like 12GB per day so it clearly says something about our vegitative states that we were able to exceed it... social experience was great and I'm still living with friends made there, two years on! The only downside I would include for Blaenwern was that the only social space was the kitchen, so there were a few plastic chairs and that's about it. However, the kicthens are huuuge and a great place to have parties, and as we found, beer pong tournaments. Just keep all of your doors open and embrace the new people!
