Living in Pumlumon is an amazing experience as your in the town and are able to get everything you need. Unfortunately not all rooms have a seafront view but all the kitchens do so you will still get a good view. There is also no common room but someone's kitchen in the building normally becomes a hang out spot for the block. The only draw back is your not on campus but the hill is only a 15 minute walk or you can take the bus up. You may feel segregated from other freshers but there is enough other first years in seafront accommodation to have a good time. Also most 2nd and 3rd years live down in town so there is always something going on. Also the ladies who work the desk are absolute dear so be kind to them as they can help you out of some interesting situations you may or may not get into.

I went to Aber 1972-75 and first year stayed at Plynlimon hall of residence on the glorious seafront- when did the name change ? In the day we got 400 pounds a year grant, the Hall cost 112 pounds a term, all meals included! The hall had 2 ground floor common rooms , kitchen/dining room, and a basement games room - what happened? Is the new system better?
No common room area, but beautiful view to the sea and great cortyard to smoke in

What this hall lacks in luxuries, it makes up for in views and location. The need for a common room to meet others in the hall is sorely needed.
Staff friendly but useless, hall overpriced and very dirty
