Everything was fine, although it was maybe not 5 star hotel. If anything breaks, it's repaired really quickly. Wifi is very good, there are also ethernet sockets in rooms. Some rooms may have sliverfish though. In very close proximity to the town centre. 1 min away from Lidl and Iceland. 12-15min from the main campus, and right next to the University School of Art. And probably the cheapest accommodation option in Aberystwyth.
Good location, if you're going to town. Not so good for uni, better take the bus. Rooms are quite big. More storage space would be nice. Walls are very thin, flatmates can probably hear everything you're doing. No laundry facilities. Two toilets and one shower per flat. Overall, pretty satisfied.
Brynderw is a great budget accommodation. At first glance it seems like a living hell. The building is relatively old and there are no social spaces/common rooms at all. But because of the fact that there's so many people live in one building compared to the other accommodations, it is a very social environment where everyone interacts and gets along from day one. The do have a few issues with Brynderw though, if something is broken when you arrive at the accommodation don't expect it to be fixed or replaced any time soon as the staff at the accommodation do not seem to respond or sometimes even straight up ignore your requests. The halls are also in the town itself, it is a long walk up a steep hill towards campus. Also the halls are infested with silverfish, nothing has been done to resolve the issue. Overall though I loved my time at Brynderw and would recommend it to anyone who can look past the initial vibe that the building gives. :)
