I had a great time staying in Waverley, the location is excellent. There’s two beautiful parks nearby, loads of pubs and it’s in close proximity to Tesco and Sainsbury’s. The walk to uni is about 20mins so not too bad, in my opinion everywhere is pretty much in walking distance. The rooms are nice, bathrooms are decent, as well as the kitchens. The only downside is the washing machines, they’re very poor but you can gain access to favell across the road which has good ones. The social scene is probably one of the best in the city centre, although Stoke bishop is likely more lively if you’re into that. All in all great accommodation for the price.

The price is decent for what it is, rooms are all a good size and have everything you need basically. Some flats have a decent view if you are on like 4/5th floor or higher, but lower floors have basically no view at all. Is around 200 people in the accom and is pretty social, not as much as ones in Stoke Bishop tbf but still good. Location is great, near basically everything you would want to go to. The building is pretty old and things break alot including the lifts, there are 3 but usually at least one is working at any time. The laundry is being replaced i think, but most the machines are f***** atm and way v expensive. Maintainance is very good though and they usually fix things quickly. 01 flats have 7 people, 02 flats have 5 people and a much smaller kitchen, 03 flats have 6 people, 04 flats have 8 people. Overall is very good for value and definitely the best Riverside accom.

Its lockdown and I'm bored so why not write a review. -Rooms are bigger than they look, fairly modern, cannot complain -Kitchen is mad, sofas are comfy af, only issue is 1 fridge and 2 freezers -Shared bathroom is bless (literally no point paying for en-suite) -Noise problems are not a thing, do not stress about that -End of the day your flat will be as clean as the people who live there -Honestly probably the best location out of all accommodation. Bars, events, food, gyms, shops, uni, other accomdation literally everything is within a 20min walk . Social life bangs differently (anyone who says the city is boring is waffling) -Stoke Bishop does have more parties, but its like comparing 10 parties a night to 7 a night. If you want to go just get the U1 there. Much rather get the bus for a night out than to have to get it for everything else. It is about an hour walk (20min bus) and all uphill from waverley -Can find a plug for just about everything within a 15min walk -No negatives

Sth about the studios in Waverley: The rooms are really big compared with many studios in similar price or higher. The whole Room is shaped like a "U" where kitchen and bedroom are separated by the corridor and bathroom. So it's pretty organised. These studios are open in 2019 So they are really new and well equipped with wardrobe, iron, freezer, microwave oven, sofa, desk, etc. Also it requires a key card to access the building and your room so your safety is guaranteed. There are fire alarm checks every week but it doesn't bother you forva long time (usually less than 2 mins). The thing is room cleaning service are not provided to studios so you need to do the cleaning by yourself. And it can be really noisy due to some constructions nearby. It's a pity that you don't really have roommates to play with but there are many events held in riverside from time to time and there are so many stores and clubs for you to hang out with friends. The staffs are also nice and helpful.

They don't give tours on open days and this wasn't my first choice of halls so I didn't know what to expect. I will say that the flats are so much nicer in person, the pictures on websites don't really do it justice. All the flats are modern and the rooms are really decent sizes, all the rooms in one flat have different layouts. The social spaces aren't great but it wasn't hard to make friends as there were loads of parties and pres in Freshers anyway. Never had an issue with the shared bathrooms being occupied or dirty. I was in a bigger flat with 8 people (-04) so had 2 bathrooms. The view from 8th floor is really nice. Would recommend as a first choice for accomodation!

Waverley this year seems to be the most social out of the three Riverside accomodations...Everyone is super friendly and down-to-earth! It was very social during freshers with loads of flat parties/pres - so was easy to make friends with people. My flat didn't bond straight away but gradually we've become closer over time - so don't rush anything! Rooms are great value for money - especially when compared to pricey Orchard Heights - as our rooms are bigger and still modern with small double beds too. Lots of storage space - big wardrobe and storage under bed as well. Location wise it's perfect if you want to be close to both Uni and all the clubs/shops. (Big asda is a 15 min walk too!) Though, there's not as much of a community feel as you'd get in Clifton/Stoke Bishop as naturally we're all a lot more independent in the city centre - which isn't always a bad thing! Most people had Riverside as their second choice but have grown to love & prefer it :)

Initially when I moved in it was great. And then, starting in October, there was construction 8 am to 5 pm with noise above legal noise limits. The walls would shake and you could feel the vibrations in the floor. After many complaints and petitioning the university, they changed the hours to 10 am to 2 pm, so gracious of them -_-. We still have not received any compensation in spite of the fact that we pay the same amount as the other Riverside buildings who could not hear the construction. The social events often do not have enough food or space for everyone, even though we all payed a social fee. The cleaners don't come on schedule, the fire alarm goes off randomly like once a week for no reason, the elevators are never all working at the same time (my flatmate was stuck in the lift for an hour), maintenance requests go ignored, and random maintenance people walk in often yet nothing gets fixed. It's definitely not worth how nice the pics look.

Double beds is a positive, but constant building work from 7am-6pm causing the walls and floors to shake. Quite expensive for what it is and better Social spaces are in the Rackhay across the road rather than in the building itself

Waverley house is in a great location as it's so close to everything being in the city centre. The flats are really modern and bedrooms are all a great size - you get a double bed! However it's quite pricey to say you don't get an en suite or even a sink in your room and the common room is pretty small so isn't as social as other accommodations. But I have loved living here despite this!
