Ridiculously expensive and we don't even get a cleaner (the cleaning they did before we arrived wasnt up to scratch either, left with a dirty shower when we turned up). Maintenance takes days to arrive, even when our freezer wasn't working so everyone's food defrosted and both our toilets were not working and it took them days to fix it which isn't on for the money we pay. The location is good, but that doesn't justify the cost for me.

Pretty good, but heating didn't work and the caretakers took forever to fix stuff!
Sociable hall, great central location on the cake, good access to food. Good room sizes
Lots is always happening here. It has a busy bar and lots of food outlets. However, the management is terrible and its way over priced.
Best for social, large rooms, looks like a prison but alright inside and layouts really nice, have to be meal plan which isn't great
We have a pub downstairs. End of Competition.
Shackleton is the perfect place to meet new people.
So good!!!!!!! Meal plan is great
Looks like a prison from the outside but the food access and the social life is brilliant. Rooms are spacious (for most) and living areas and roomy. Slight issue with plumbing and slow internet are draw backs.
It's in the middle of everything. It has large kitchens and ok sized rooms and is known for being very social. The bar downstairs is really cool plus there's a costcutter there too.
The most convenient place to live in UoB. Everything you need is under one roof and it is managed really well.
I have paid more for this accommodation than most at UoB- yet the halls are visibly older than other cheaper and similarly priced halls. There are cracks and rubble falling off some walls that have not been attended to. Guild students think it's fine to post a tidal wave of advertising spam through the letter box, making a mess. Rooms spacious and in a great area by a lake, though.
