Absolutely terrible. If you want to be woken up everyday to maintenance either drilling or hammering whilst shouting to one another in your corridor, then choose liberty court! The walk to uni is so long, especially in winter months when it's freezing, don't be fooled by the free bus as it hardly runs when you actually need it! People on the Vale pity us in liberty court, I think that says it all? Rooms are small, staff are useless, 3 break-ins in one day. DON'T COME HERE!!!
Liberty court. This was my 5th choice (?) for accomodation and I now know why. There have been break ins (3 windows smashed in one night and security not on sight to help), Alarms at 3am which was going to happen, but security weren’t avaliable until about an hour after the alarm went off. Builders are constantly in my flat and everything seemingly needs to be “fixed”, all of which should have been done BEFORE we arrived. Staff aren’t exactly helpful, office hours are limited. I have been into the common room once - the night I arrived and haven’t gone back since because it feels like a run down youth centre (minus the youth). The bus schedule means you either get to uni an hour early for your lectures, or an hour later than you need to be, as there is no schedule from 12-3 (I get the need for a lunch break but a 3 hour lunch break where there are multiple drivers a day?) Its isolating, when asked where you live it’s met with confusion, because everyone else lives in the vale:(
Firstly, the accommodation is awful. Would not recommend. Walk to uni is far and cold, and even though a bus is provided the bus times are basically during lectures and there is no bus at prime time between 12-3. Also, the first month of being there was countless amount of fire alarms which made living there a headache. Next, the courtyard is really loud and can hear everything from your room. Next, reception is only open 1 hour a day on weekdays which is just rubbish to be honest. Next, if you have a problem, chances are they won’t respond to your email for at a week. Doesn’t have a bar for students to socialise. The common room isn’t even a common room. Rubbish social services. Is very easy for people to get in and out of the gate, despite what security may say which leads me to my last point. There were 3 smashed windows and burglaries in one night, where were security? And also no email or update was posted so it was tried to be pushed under the carpet. Don’t recommend
AVOID putting this as one fo your accommodation choices AT ALL COSTS! 40 mins from uni, completely isolating from the rest of the uni as EVERYONE is on the vale which is another 30 min walk. this made it (personally) extremely hard to make friends as no one can pop over to see u and u basically miss out of that social hub experience of accom (if that's what ur into). when i told people i was at lib court all of they're reactions and faces were the same ...'ooo /: isn't that the one that's really far away?'. the rooms are so basic and bedrooms are tiny. opposite a really dodgy bar where there are always people smoking weed outside and the walk to uni is on a main road so not pleasant and dangerous to do at night. if i knew of the location, isolation and rubbish facilities i would have never ever ever dreamt of putting it down as one of my choices. if u do get it n u think u can deal with the location it should be fine but i found his extremely difficult n inconvenient.
Eh... well been here a few days now. Its MILES away from the campus. Be prepared to walk if you want to stay here. The rooms are dead boxy and small. Pershore road is super super noisy. It was nobody's first choice of accomodation and its small so everyone knows each other. THe RA's are a bit useless. You want to get on Union accomodation if you can, as this is private. The tickets are booked so they're Union accomodation VS Private so unless you buy non guild tickets you wont be going out with people you meet on your course. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy. Theres loads of storage space too. Just dont forget anything when you go out because your 30minutes walking away and at night when your using a taxi that can be super super expensive. Its okay. Not my first choice but it has better rules than victoria hall. We have put posters up in the kitchen and we have two sofas. You dont need toilet or room bins as the rooms come with that. Theres plenty of plugs and the wifi is ok.
