This hall is ideally the expected standard of a student accommodation. Throughout the whole year i never once regretted choosing it as it was always equipped with everything i required. From the important utensils to the proximity of important areas i required. From the socialising areas to the privacy of my own room - they were all great. However, i think there is still room to improve on keeping the place a little cleaner. Also, although the building is quite good it would still help a lot if it was slightly cheaper to afford, after all, we are students and have other expenses too.
Compared to the many city centre accomodation building oscott gardens is hugely behind. The furniture us poor quality and well worn. Bed room shower rooms are infested by silver fish bugs. However everything is practicle and survived the year even if the security wouldnt let any social life take place.
If I had known about the city centre campus I never would have lived at Oscott. Please go to one of the city centre halls! There was no social aspect, the management were beyond terrible! We had so many serious issues that didn't get resolved. It was more expensive than some London halls, and definitely not worth it.
Everything is at an excellent level. However they do not have cleaners and therefore should be dome yourself but I've never seen that as a problem as you are provided with cleaning products. Just don't be lazy. Location wise, it does not feel like a safe area but within the accommodation is fine.
