The content was really good. In the second year we collaborated with a children’s book publishing company and we worked with numerous external companies. Unfortunately teaching fell short. I had a tutor that has now since left the university (for the best really) and they wasn’t up to the rest of the staffs teaching quality. They let the whole team down. They didn’t attend tutorials and not tell you that they wasn’t attending which meant unnecessary train ticket fare and a waste of time and even when they was actually in, they would give you a time to see you for a tutorial and then decide to call it a day without seeing half of their group. Sadly especially with our year, they focused more on the loud mouthy kids rather than everyone. Ian, Helen, Kris and Jo are good tutors though, hats off to them, but they could do with giving the less obnoxious students some more attention though. Staff from other departments are really good too especially Jane and Ally, they’re brilliant

If I had the chance I wouldn’t have picked this course at this uni, the opportunities were only given to the same individuals over and over again and the other left on their own. They have complete favourite and that becomes so obvious over the 3 years that the rest of the course don’t feel like they are worthy. Then when it comes to picking people for certain things they always pick the same people and give them multiple chances for things, again leaving the rest behind. It’s really a course like this has became so segregated with who’s the best and who isn’t. I really wouldn’t recommend this course, go somewhere else!

Great visual comunication course. Good start for graphic, photography, video maker, illustration. I like personal tutorials, extra workshops (if you want), and amazing-GOOD equipment (photo studio, darkroom).

I do not see a point in having a personal tutor, when they are only there for your personal issues unrelated to your submissions. Teaching quality would be 5 stars but chasing up some tutors is a challenge (for example teaching days are Mondays and Fridays - this tutor won't reply to your emails until Friday and if you got burning questions before submission, you best off jumping off a cliff with your questions.
