This degree is brilliant!
First of all, the facilities of the Department are excellent: one Blackbox Theatre and one Scene Stage Theatre as well as loads of rehearsal rooms and generally a great department atmosphere!
The main pull of the course is how it enable independent creation, whilst (almost subliminally) guiding you with it's outstanding staff.
You write plays, you direct plays, you criticise and analyse techniques and performances. IT HAS AN ACEMEDIC BACK BONE - this is NOT drama school.
You have about 60-70% Essay-based assessment on the whole (depending on your module choices) and the rest is practical, but very vigorous and stimulating stuff.
It's a great choice for anyone interested in truly understanding Theatre, both practically and theoretically!
