Textile Art, Design and Fashion, BA Hons

The course content is too broad. I wish you had a longer time in the workshops, maybe pick three out of the five you would like to try to familiarize yourself with. I wanted to get into pattern making but we didn’t touch it. The lectures are great!

Love my course, there's a lot of extra money for materials so save up haha. They charge you an extra £100 per year for materials which in first year covers a lot of what you'll need but covers less in second yr.

It’s good however I feel like for the price there isn’t a lot of supplies provided, the tasks are pretty interesting.

Textile Art, Design and Fashion, BA Hons

By CatherineJane95 On 15th April 19

Currently, studying Textile Art, Design and Fashion at Ulster University Belfast. The course itself is very broad and there are a variety of workshops that you can learn such as knit, print, embroidery, weave and fashion. The course provides diverse learning experiences ensuring students have the confidence, and skills for a future in textiles and fashion. The tutors are very technical, there would be a design tutor and then a technical teacher that will teach you how to actually make something and all the processes are commented. The staff are very nice and friendly and they love students to ask a lot of questions. They show you new techniques and learn from them. The technicians are always in the workshop and they are very hands-on. All the staff have very strong support. The library is open 24 hours so you can go to the library anytime you like.
