Journalism and English Language and Linguistics, BA Hons
By Emily305 On 17th November 20All but about 3 of my 30-ish lecturers over the 3 years actually put in effort to their seminars. Only 2 of them bothered to learn my name. My personal tutor admitted to me that she would only send me an email when she was told she had to each semester - and she didn’t even recognise me outside of her office. In regards to job prospects, we were never given any information about life after university. I relied on one lecturer who luckily gave us all a few contacts and connections off her own back.

English Language and Linguistics, BA Hons
By littlepav On 8th February 19What I loved most about this course is that you could tailor it to what interests you the most about linguistics. It is a very vast field hence some topics you might find more interesting than others, so the flexibility they provice as to choosing your modules in Years 2 and 3 was really great. The lecturers are experts in their field and my personal tutor was incredibly helpful not just with some issues I encountered with assignments, but also with personal issues that somewhat impacted my studies. If you are interested in how language functions in an array of societal contexts as well as grammatically, phonologically and psychologically, then I could not recommend this course enough.
