15 Fine art reviews at Lancaster University
Fine Art and Theatre, BA Hons
They’re pretty on it with work, they don’t let you slack off which is what you need to be successful. Really good facilities for the arts at Lancaster, I feel as if my student loan is actually used for the art department!
Fine Art, BA Hons
Just don't do it. It felt like whatever i did wasn't good enough and they marked based on personal opinions. Super expensive and guess what if you don't have materials to a good enough standard they have a go! What job prospects can i possibly have
Fine Art, BA Hons
Some of the tutors are stellar. Other than that, the art dept is in ruins as well as the university.

We need more one to one time
Fine Art, BA Hons
The course is ideal for someone if you have a specific area of interest in mind if you want to be more open minded with art don't bother coming here. The theory is very boring and difficult to engage in.
Fine Art and Creative Writing, BA Hons
Absolute waste of time
Fine Art, BA Hons
Our tutors and our course are amazing, it is obvious they care and they try and help everyone to develop. But the wider University has been trying to commodify the course - one of the most important parts of an art degree is the degree show - which the university has been trying to use to promote the course to local school, instead of letting us promote ourselves to prospective employers and graduate schemes across the country They’ve taken away a lot of our autonomy in organising the show, which is again vital to our degree. Also they are reluctant to provide funding for equipment or safe working environments. Our studios have been so hot that the desktops provided have been glitching, it is unworkable. The portable air con units they provided as a solution do not actually tackle the problem of ventilation or air flow

Disappointed in the art practical tutors a little, written and verbal feedback do not match. Apart from that, rather enjoyable.

Really enjoying my course so far, as an organised person the lack of organisation occurs a little too often for me. Things are quite guided in what you choose to do so far, but still a lot of work needs to be put in in your own time

Very bad. Very narrow minded tutors with little convern for their students. Very stuck in their own ways and not willing to be open minded and accept that everybody has a different way of working. Poor feedback. Poor teaching. Harsh marking. Don't even know who my personal tutor is, and communication in the department, and between tutors and students is appalling. Wish I had taken my offer from GSA instead.
