Only seen personal tutor once. There is a massive gap in teaching quality between lecturers. Some modules are badly organised in terms of changed lecture times. And we just got our module choices for next year, and there is a severe lack of choice.
Shocking department who lack any sort of organisation and find the simplest of tasks to be mountainous challenges. I've had so many problems in the last three years that have been caused by the department that I've lost count, including a case where one of my essays was marked down because the lecturer didn't agree with my viewpoint. Some lecturers seem to be so involved in their own personal ventures that they completely sideline the needs of the students who are paying for their support and guidance. Resources are minimal and the teaching quality varies enormously. The head of the school takes a week to reply to emails and other lecturers who do reply seem to be uninterested and unhelpful.
Stay away from Hull uni if you're wanting to do a politics degree.
