10 Tourism, transport & travel reviews at University of Huddersfield
Air Transport and Logistics Management, BSc Hons
The course price is definitely not justified and is definitely not worth £9250 every year! It has been a rocky ride to final year with an extremely poorly run course! Don’t let the course title fool you, it’s is mainly a logistics and supply chain course with one air transport module bolted on as an afterthought. The Air Transport lecturers are great, the other lecturers are not so great! The personal tutor program is a waste of space! In my first year I met with my tutor who didn’t even know what I was studying, second year I was allocated someone who worked in a different subject area who were useless and now in final year I’ve been allocated a new tutor but they are always too busy to properly see them and discuss coursework etc. There aren’t any links with air transport companies with the University course, meaning you will have to source your own job in the industry. The careers and placement services at the university are useless and no help what so ever.
Air Transport and Logistics Management, BSc Hons
You would think looking at the title of the course most of your time would be spent learning about Air Transport and Logistics Management. However this is not the case. The first year consists of six modules: -Commercial Management (Basically Financial and Management Accounting) -Economics & Marketing (Demand and Supply, Marketing Mix) -Business Skills (Statistics and IT Tests) -Transport Challenges and Issues (Mainly relating to car use) - Principles of logistics (Basically warehousing and road logistics) - Introduction to Air Transport (Basically Deregulation and Very Basic Aviation knowledge). The course was very poorly structured, modules did not really interlink with one another and for the most part content was extremely boring in lectures. This was accompanied by an extremely poor module grading system and unorganised staff. Certain topics taught seemed irrelevant to the course I came to study, leaving you questioning why you paid £9250 for it. Needs drastic improvement!

Love my course, teaching most of the time is pretty good. Have 2 lecturers who are, for lack of a better word, s***, but the rest of the time the other lecturers are good.
